One thing that I really like about this wireless keyboard that it's a reasonable price and it's a great item. It basically does everything you would need a keyboard to do. I have my laptop connected to my 48" LCD, so for me it's just much more comfortable then having my laptop sitting on my lap. Plus my laptop gets really HOT at times and the keyboard doesn't. It's quick at responding to key strokes, and has a pretty strong connection range. So far, I haven't had any issues with it, but I've been a Logitech customer before and they seem to make quality products. That's one reason why I decided to go with their product again. I was debating between Logitech and Microsoft but I have a wireless Microsoft mouse, and I wished I had gone with a Logitech mouse instead because my mouse doesn't have a good connection. (It worked great at first, but now the wireless connection isn't as great. The farthest range between mouse and USB reciever is 3 feet! Worthless since my screen is about 8 feet away from me. So logically one would assume their keyboards might be the same) But back to the review, overall it's a great item. The only thing I would like to see with this keyboard is a "NUM Lock" button. It doesn't have that. So everytime I use the 10-key my screen says "number lock on/off" in bright neon green and that gets annoying at times. And I've looked up ways to try to fix it but with no luck. Otherwise I'd tell you how to fix it. But yes, overall great item. Very pleased.Read full review
Greetings... They are keyboards... and then they are KEYBOARDS. Many have offered different designs, new ergonomic angles, backlited or not, various paddings, you name it, it's been already done... even the light imaging keyboards (which the keys are projected on your work desk and you touch the image that is optically read. Now, that's high-tech and a 'Star Trek' way. But if you are looking for a sleek, attractive and very functional keyboard, that is probably the best looking device to complement a computer, the Logitech DiNovo Edge Wireless Keyboard, in the PC or MAC version, is probably the best you'll ever find. As far as look and performance, the only thing that might look as good as the DiNovo would be some of the Apple keyboards, but the Logitech has still the EDGE over them... No pun intended ;-). The keys are smooth, comfortable and sensitive to the touch, like striking air. The built-in circular mouse pad, on the lower right corner, lets you do all the moves you want without having the need of a seperate mouse. This is just perfect if you have a large monitor screen and you want to use your DiNovo on your lap or work from your living room couch if you are so lucky to have your large living room flat screen hooked up to your computer (like me ;-). It's slim... Real slim to just abut a half an inch. And IT LOOKS GOOD... Even when it's popped up on its charging cradle, where a two-hour charge will yield about two months of wireless use, it attracts attention like a piece of artwork. On the coffe table, it looks as good as any decorative piece you would have. And it's just plain fun to work with. the range is also very good with BluTooth... I can strech it all the way to my dining room, with still a good line of vision to my large living falt screen on the wall, and work with it while having my cup of coffee (and sometime during my breakfast, when it's for fun). And the product has some good back-up too. LOGITECH has been around for quite a while and they've produced and manufactured some of the best peripherals. I also own a Logitech Z-5300e THX Certified Digital 5.1 Sound System for my computer. That was delivering better sound than some of my buddies home stereo systems. I liked it so much that I later bought the Z-5500e, with more power and full remote control, and adapted it as a home theatre system in the family room. For the price I paid on Boxing Day (I don't even want to say how cheap it was), there is nothing that can come close to it. Plenty of power and great electronics with good sound. But we're talking keyboards here, so you now know that I trust the product for it performance and reliability. So, in conclusion, THIS IS THE KEYBOARD TO HAVE & OWN, AND TO USE... Don't miss it ! They are getting rarer and rarer to find. I dunno why Logitech would even think of phasing this product out of their line-up, but you never know. I hope my breif review has brought some interest in discovering more on the Logitech DiNovo Edge Wireless Keyboard. Surf the net, look at the attractive photos of the unit, read reviews and specs on it... It's all there ! Shop around on eBay and you'll always find some great deals, on new or slightly used keyboards, and a always at a fair price. You'll be happy that you dis so, and you don't even have to Thank Me ! ;-) Enjoy, Gino 'IO' Salotti Montreal, April 2, 2001Read full review
Slim and everything you need for a regular keyboard. Not for gamers and not just for laptops, this is replacing my desktop and workstation keyboards as well. Very nice for long bouts of typing and well placed keys in a compact space. My only gripe about key placement is the "eject" key that I often hit when going for the backspace key. I'm a 6'1" guy, so I have large hands and just need to get my stroke down to avoid this. Other than that, I don't really have any other issues. It has some things that I think should be standard on all wireless keyboards though. Here's a quick list: 1.) 2.4Ghz Wireless - No Bluetooth. Bluetooth just doesn't work for keyboards and mice. I always get a delay when trying to hop into my Bios or Boot Menu and I always battle disconnects when typing for a long period of time on Bluetooth keyboards. 2.) Basic Volume Control - this model doesn't have touch sensitive or nob control. It just has a simple increase, decrease and mute button for each function. I've never found the other novel concepts to actually work. 3.) Calculator Key - I hate all the calculator Gadgets and having to pull it up in accessories. This just makes going for it so much easier and intuitive. 4.) Slim non-chunky design. The new Apple keyboards are a little too minimalistic for me, but this is just perfect. Also the keys feel like keys with good responsiveness. While I haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life, I do like the simple on/off switch on the front side of the keyboard. We'll see how battery life goes over the next few months. Hopefully they last at least 6 months. If so, I'll be very happy. Overall, I'll have three (3) of these now paired with a MX Performance Mouse each. Very happy with the purchases. Good Job Logitech! pelleRead full review
I LOVED this keyboard - for about the 2 hrs it worked correctly. At that point, the "L" key popped off, and so far neither I nor several computer savvy friends have been able to replace it correctly. (It is a sort of "soft touch" key, with a rubber finger under the key and the key has sort of plastic interlocking frame on the bottom). I emailed Logitech, & was told because I bought it on eBay, there was no warranty - but they would give me a 50% discount off a new Logitech Edge (a much higher end keyboard with the same key system and costing about 4 times as much...) Why would I want to do that when I have a brand-new keyboard with just a dislodged key??! Other "negatives": the brushed aluminum wrist rest along the bottom is attractive, but they've incorporated a raised, metal Logitech logo directly in the middle, which is uncomfortable & distracting. Also, the aluminum edge along the righthand side protrudes slightly beyond the plastic under-base, and the edge was VERY SHARP - I covered it with a piece of tape. All in all, I'm sort of sorry I couldn't go any lower than 1 bar... both for the product & for Logitech's unhelpful response.Read full review
This keyboard is excellent. All the keys are spaced properly and dont make any sound. Keystroke response is pretty nice as well. The extra (custom) keys provided come in very handy. The only problem with those keys is the Eject key, just above the backspace button, gets pressed by mistake, sometimes and the CD tray opens up in your face. But I've realized that it does not happen if you have 2 or more removable drivers (one usualy CD/DVD drive and the other maybe a virtual drive) then it does nothing (you'll see what i mean when u use it). Also, for a wireless keyboard, this is the best deal for the price. so go for it! 5 stars!
