This camera/mic combo is very inexspensive and does what it is supposed to do. However the picture quality is just OK. You can tinker with the settings a little and it does help but the video quality is still just mediocre. I am using this cam replacing an unknown manufacturer's older cam as I cannot find any drivers that work with it. It was the same price as the Logitech. Even without proper drivers my old cam had a much better picture quality. Most times if I buy Logitech's product I am either completely satisfied or surprised at the quality. This is my first disappointment.

Plugged this into a Linux system, worked easily with Skype. Audio quality was bad on this system, don’t know if it would be better under windows drivers, but I used a separate microphone to fix the problem

For it's being a inexpensive WebCam it has great picture quality and sound quality. It was very easy to set up after I visited the Logitech website and downloaded the drivers for this unit. It is a great value for the money and suit my needs very well. I recommend this unit to all

We didn't pay very much for this device. It doesn't give very much service in return. Works OK as a web cam. Works better for stills. Compensates for lower light by reducing the frames per second, which is why it is not really a "video camera". We upgraded from a C110, and had left the original software installed, and C160 runs under that software. There are some options to turn off auto settings and mess about with brightness, contrast, color. That helps in looking at objects in bright light with large dark background (bird on a sunny branch in front of dark trees). The lens is slightly focusable, which is essential for us. We tack this cam to a spotting scope right into the rubber eye cup. It requires a lot of finagling to get it "right". The rsult (after setting the software to 4:3 (standard) and the highest resolution (basically, your standard XVGA mode) We get decent-not-professional snap shots. Not great, because there is a ghost along all the edges (indicating that the cam doesn't *quite* focus perfectly in the spotting scope). But all in all, this works OK to see tiny birds 300 yards away. Of course, we also have to use a netbook, but that gives us a 10" image to look at, which we can then enlarge even more for close up viewing. Video is much lower quality than stills. There is about a 1.5 second delay between actual image and what shows up on the screen. The bird is in the frame after it has actually flown. So we take stills. The instructions to set up the software are wrong for WIN7. Do NOT plug the device in when you are told, or the install will hang. Or maybe we have a special computer. Worse, you cannot uninstall this software until it is fully installed. We speak from experience. Here is one proven way to make this camera work under WIN7. DON'T PLUG IN THE DEVICE WHEN YOU RECEIVE IT. Get the software from Logitech's web site and start the install. DON'T PLUG IN THE DEVICE. Let the software complain that there is no device, and continue to install the software all the way. No camera drivers will be installed. Reboot your computer. Make sure you have a good internet connection - this is essential for camera driver installation. Launch the software. It will say "No device found." Plug in the cam. In about 90 seconds the camera's updated device drivers will be found and installed. Then, like magic, the software will "notice" you have the camera and life will be good. How to attach cam to scope? Our scope has a cover, so we unzip, place camera against eyecup, rezip case. We leave the cam's mount on the camera to help hold in place. Otherwise cut off cam's base, tape cam to scope's eyepiece. Warning, lots of finagling to get this to work, because the eyepiece and the cam and the scope's focus knob all have to be adjusted "just so" to get a decent picture. It took 45 minutes to work out a close-enough setting the first time. We figure 10 mins next time and thereafter. We had terrible troubles with the C110 - offset lens mounted in a curved-face body. T'was the dickens to get it to even see the eyepiece. We have another camera coming (different brand, flat front) which we'll also try. The incoming cam has much better resolution, but the eyeball style seems to be what works the easiest. Maybe not the best, but certainly the easiestRead full review
I knew getting a webcam thats an older model would have a lower resolution but if you just want one to talk with people and take pictures, it works amazing!
