I am 11 years post TBI, still post concussive with some deficits. This book has been a valuable asset in understanding many typical difficulties that are common in TBI. e.g. the mechanisms behind memory loss, impulsivity, frustration, irrational thoughts and actions, depression, etc. The book is easy to read/understand yet full of profound facts and ideas on brain function and the recovery process. TBI is a tragic life crisis, yet a threshold, and an opportunity to grow in ways you wouldn't have tried otherwise. It's a diffult road "back", not to who you were, but to a person you can be. The more support and understanding you have, the better off you'll be. This book will help the victim from many perspectives. It will also help those who care, to understand something of the depth of the struggle, and to appriciate the brain's amazing capacity to heal/compensate. Over the years I have purchased several copies of this book to share with others, to offer them hope for this journey. But the greatest hope, is in the power of Christ, without which I'd given up long ago. Buy this book and others after it, learn and be transformed. SaludRead full review
