Lynksys Router Purchase Review
Because of some DSL issues out at my house, the service tech's decided to dedicate one phone line to my office for DSL eliminating all the filters from the phone jacks inside the house, also eliminating any DSL signal from anywhere else in the house. Not too long after their fix we decided to set two other computers up in the house (I have a large house). I am currently using the router as a switch and I was able to run CAT5 to the other computers through ceilings and walls to conceal the wires. I ended up bidding on two routers at the same time and getting them both. They don't go bad very often but I've got a back up if I need one, also if I want to add more computers, I can use the spare router as another switch. I am using the older one (the one in the picture) because it looks better ... The router was easy to set up, after I figured out that it had to have a different IP address than the modem and have had absolutly no problem with it so far. For the do-it-yourselfer home tech, remember: don't stack modems, routers and switches as they generate alot of heat. They need room to keep cool to preserve their life cycles. Linksys makes a good router. Since I have been around the technical side of computers and networking, I have never seen one go bad, and point of fact, I am not even sure if there is another brand ( I'm sure there is, I just haven't payed any attention to anything else).

Sexy Router which great coverage for heavy usage, guests, and is affordable
I needed to replace my Linksys Wireless-N Broadband (model WRT160Nv2), which I believe was aka e1000. It worked fine for reasonable usage, but loses connection with heavy usage. ie. It continues to broadcast but without Internet and would need a restart to be fixed. I learned the disconnection had to do with low router memory. I needed something to appease my tenants that include an online gamer and a couple that watch Filipino programming online. So after comparing the new Linksys E-Series with other brands.. I chose the E-series mainly 'cause of it aesthetics but also 'cause Linksys's longevity. I picked the E3200 as it seemed enough for my needs and within my budget. $180USD for the higher/highest model (E4300) was just a bit too much. So I looked for the E3200 but found the new ... They sell it for $160; US website for $150; I got it on eBay for $140 :) Skipping more unnecessary story, the E3200 router is much better than the E100. I haven't had a disconnection since.. (about 2 weeks now). And look at it... its like a sexy futuristic car! Also, it has some great features like, the Guest access which is perfect for tenants. Now I can share my router without worrying about infiltration to my home network.

We owned a Linksys for 3 years and finally decided it was time to replace it when we continuously got booted off the net. I felt I did a good amount of research on a variety of routers before choosing the Cisco Valet M10 to run wireless internet to three of our four computers in the house (one is hard-wired) and so far, have no complaints but one. As far as installing it on the two newer Vista computers and the Windows 7 - it was absolutely the easiest install I've ever done for anything like this! It was easy, fast -literally just minutes! - and installed without any problems whatsoever. As for the older Vista (Home Premium) desk top - horrid doesn't begin to describe the process! I'm still not sure it's been fully installed properly but glad to say all computers are currently running ... I absolutely love the idea of not having to worry about assigning passwords and outside access and remembering all the server info and so on. It's all made so very easy with this router (unless your computer is an older version apparently). And, for those of us who care a little, it's even attractive enough to sit on top of your desk or shelf amongst most other decor and small enough not to matter much.

Best Wireless Router I've Ever Used!!!
The speed is excellent. I had originally gone thru 2 Netgear routers within a year. This one is by far the best and easiest one to setup. Setup takes less than 5 minutes. There is no instructions to read. It's basically plug and play router. It lets you setup everything on their website. Unlike previous routers Ive used in the past, the setup can be tricky if you use Ooma or other devices that needs to connect to the router. The Cicso Valet does it all! Thought its a bit pricey vs other routers, but its far more reliable and Cisco (Linksys) is a trust brand in the industry!! You can go wrong!The speed is excellent. This product is as advertised - extremely easy to use. I purchased it because of the supposed ease of operation. It comes with a little gizzmo that you plug into your computer that will automatically install the router. Of course, my computer was too old for the little gizzmo to work. I called the toll free customer service number and a very clear and intelligent customer service representative walked me through some very easy to use steps and within no time at all I was up and running! Absolutely worth the price and through ebay I was able to get it for almost half of what Staples wanted for it.This product is as advertised - extremely easy to use.
