Have several limbsavers on several guns. Noticed that the narrower the pad, the less cushioning effect of the pad. The wider pads are really great, but narrower pads really don't offer the max recoil reduction%. I note this and wonder if the narrow pads are really worth the price, given that limbsavers are expensive. You decide for yourself.

Looks perfect for my 1100 synthetic stock. Its way to small to match up with the wood stock as is though. Sooo... Based on "grind to fit" I assumed that I had to grind the narrower outer section down (the section that fits inside a synthetic) to the full sized section level (so it looks like the pic) to fit the wood stock. It is a cropped pic apparently, hiding the step from the small section to the wider full size level. Once the small pad is gone the shock system is exposed and the grommets to hold it on fall out. Pad ruined.

But ! it did not fit my 870 shotgun. I had to but a different one like the one that came with my shotgun and even then it didn't fit perfect but it will do. if you take it to a gun smith he could put it on a deer rifle.

It doesn't fit my gun exactly. I went by the measurements and not the actual gun type but it is very close and works fine.

Did not fit on my 870 but I was able to use it on a different shotgun. Product does work very well.
