Damian Lewis is worth watching in this role as a cop who was exonerated after spending 12 years in jail for a murder he did not commit. Before his time in jail, the show says he was just a regular cop, waiting to get his time in and his pension. Jail time provided him with a Zen philosophy in which he applies to his cases. Drives his partner, Reese, crazy - as well as others. He got a huge settlement, bought a huge house, Adam Arkin, former convict, is his financial partner. What makes Lewis a good figure is that since Band of Brothers, he plays a good role as a commander / detective / leader. The writers do him well. I watched the show not every week but when I did, I was captivated with the character development and excellent story lines. I saw the last episode, not realizing it was the last called "ONE" and a lot of loose ends were tied up nicely. I just wish there could have been another season. I see the sets selling fairly high on ebay and I just bought the first season for a good deal. I figure they will be forgotten soon, as new shows continue to come and go and will get the second season. This is one of those shows that when gone, one wonders what happened and since there are only two seasons, it is worth getting both when you find a deal for a collection.Read full review
One of the best odd ball shows ever. It lasted only two quirky seasons but they were weird and wonderful. The Zen-ish cop Crews and his tense partner make a great and funky team to solve cases and ask the most odd questions of life along the way. It was just too zenish for broadcast tv and would have had a super fan base on one of the now prevalent cable streaming networks. I wanted to buy these so I can always get another dose of the somewhat philosophical Det. Crews.

Life is an amazing series that was cancelled far too soon. The two main characters (played by Damian Lewis and Sarah Shahi) really drive the show, though the direction, writing, and supporting actors help a lot too. This show is amazing...and really well done...writing, acting, directing, everything. It's just a great show. If you're on the fence about whether you should watch Life or not, just do it. If you love quirky characters, police procedure/drama, character development, mystery, then you should definitely give this show a chance. :) [Both seasons are on Hulu until Sept 18th, 2011. Take advantage! Then, buy them, like I did. They are worth it!]
Fascinating story line that only lasts two seasons. Very creative Damian Lewis is the perfect actor to portray Detective Crews. There is enough comic relief to keep viewers laughing but the novel approach to figuring out who committed the crime keeps up a high level of interest. Always in the background even as they work on a case is the underlying issue of who was responsible for Crews spending twelve years in prison for something he didn't do. He is always just one step ahead of the bad guys. I purchased both season one and two. Excellent entertainment!

There are bloopers and deleted scenes that were not seen before. However the music which was integral to the show on TV were missing and replaced with other ones.. I guess it is due to licensing issues.. too bad.
