It corks very well for me, using #8 corks. I've used it about 25 times so far. My corked bottles hold the pressure and the fluid of the sparkling and non-sparkling wine I've bottled in both 750ml and 1.5L bottles. You just need to be aware that the look of the cork isn't exactly "perfect" after corking a bottle. The top of the cork almost always shows a small comprehension indentation from the cylinder that forces the cork into the bottle. This is because the cylinder is only 3/4 of the diameter of a cork. BUT for the price it's terrific. I paid around $15-16 for it.

The Corker didn't seat #9 natural corks all the way, had to run a second cork through to finish them flat. Not the worst but you you will chew up the second cork in 2-4 bottles. And the top of the cork in the bottle isn't perfect, it's not even because of the plunger design cutting into the cork. Not terrible but not a professional look. Does the job if you are on a tight budget and are only making a dozen bottles or so.

I'm new to home wine making. This corker did not come with any instructions, but it was all pretty self explanatory. I soaked my corks in water for a few minutes while I was filling the bottles. When I got to the corking operation, it all went very smooth, and all my two dozen bottles were all corked evenly and without any incident. It looks like a professional job. Love the corker.

Granted, it is a corker, and it does cork, but as other reviewers have commented, it did not push the cork far enough (about 3/16" still sticking out of the bottle) and it left a large nasty dent in the middle of the cork. I was really unimpressed with the outcome. I think I will try to add a wide spacer to plunger to get the corks in further and to keep from leaving a ugly impression on the top of the cork.

I was doubtful if this would be easy to use since some reviews say it is very difficult to get cork in. I am a small, older person, and I did not have any problem with this. I would recommend a floor corker if you have a large quantity to cork. I only have 7-10 bottles to cork.
