As a TRUE horror movie fan I have watched and own many flicks, and because I have watched so many, I rarely find one that gives me that "WOW" factor anymore. Well I must say that this was one of those movies. It has just the perfect mix of horror and a strange twist as well. It shows an unusual "bond" between two people that really makes the movie a 5 star film for me. The plot is superb, the cast was great, and the production was an A+ for me! If you are a die hard horror fan like me, this is a must see film.

As a huge fan of "Let the Right One In" I had mixed feelings about news of a remake until I saw Chloe Moretz play Hit Girl. "Let Me In" is a very good movie and it's hard to write about it without comparing it to the original, but I'll try. The movie's high points are the intensity, acting, and the focus on the two young characters. The musical score and pace of the film is well suited for Hollywood audiences. In that sense, I think most Americans would like this one better than the original. Buy it if you are not interested in the Swedish version. These two are unlike any vampire story and both are 10 times better than the Twilight films. I only had one disappointment for those who loved the original (not a spoiler): There is an important visual scene in the indoor pool sequence which "Let Me In" does not include. I literally gasped in disbelief at the theater. Oh well, can't have it all. Upshot-watch it.Read full review
Great Movie. Probably one of the most honest depictions of what life would be like if there truly were vampires. No glorification, no excessive gore, especially no hollywood romance. Just the life of a young vampire who essentially won't age and a very young boy who falls in love and will end up an old man killing people for his love. Not too uplifting.

Great horror film from Cloe Grace Moretz. This is a very dark character for her and she pulls it off well. All the characters are well played and the story is dark and engaging. I love the 80s vibe in the background, Reagan speeches and all. Makes it all the more creepily entertaining.

This is the Americanized take on the Swedish film 'Let the Right One in'. A vampire movie ? well yes,it is, but a much better story than the normal tale of the undead. the title phrase " Let Me In" is what the story is about, namely giving your trust to another person. This movie delivers in the violence department to be sure. However the real story is about a kid who was turned into a vampire unwillingly and has spent " a very long time" being just 12 years old. This vampire is Abbey who arrives into the life of a young boy of the same age when she moves in next door.Abbey is rather unsocial and unkempt and as she tries to distance herself from the boy Owen, she finds a kindred spirit in him ;a mirror of her desperate position as a vampire; this boy is also desperate,he is bullied severely even to the point of real cuts and bruises from the trio classmates who humiliate him for sport and more likely as a balm to their own insecurity. Owen and Abbey share the same passion .. they just want to live ..not a horrible life but a fulfilled life .. Abbey who must kill for blood to live on and Owen who dreams of killing in revenge for his daily humiliation from the bullies. They both would change the world if they could but that is denied them... Abbey in her 12 year old body and mind must rely on an adult for safety during the day and for mundane things like renting apartments and being seen by the world as "normal" fading into her surroundings by not appearing any different from everyone around her. Owen cannot change the fact that he is basically a coward with a poor self image and undermined by his good meaning mother who is really nice but cannot get a grip on the fact that her boy is growing up now and needs to defend himself from the world as most other kids learn to do. This is the basis of the story between Abbey and Owen who learn that together they become the one complete person that has eluded them separately, for both of them trust is almost insurmountable until they find each other and as the story progresses the need for each to "Let the Right One In" is fulfilled by growing trust and love. Do you get to see Abbey kill a few people .. yea sure and it is intense to see this girl at it,the action side of this drama is not underplayed at all,but it is the story of the 2 children that is being told not a fanfare for more blood and killing. So .. chick movie or guy movie? both! the story is very interesting, in fact the original Swedish novel and movie this is based on are well worth the time. The book tells a much broader story of who and what the girl character is ..and the Swedish movie tells the story more in line with the books original intent.. this is definitely a "BUY" movie and if you watch it over a few times you will really see the vampirism is secondary to the human condition of both main characters.Read full review
