I LOVE this book! Besides the amazing amount of work the author put into it - building each and every scene, then photographing it in high detail, clarity and color - the scenes are hilarious! I can't pick it up without laughing at the great humor in the scenes, all the while appreciating that the author was careful to be Biblically accurate. My son LOVES this book, as well as it's companion, but probably not as much as I do. lol

When I first seen the Brick Testament online, I thought it was very cool and my kids got all excited about reading it. The more I began to read through it, I began to notice that something just wasn't quite right. It took me a bit to figure it out. With a little bit of digging into the sight I discovered that the author, "Rev" Brendan Powell Smith, is not a Christian at all and is in fact an atheist. Smith is a very talented artist, I will give him that much credit, but he likes to subtly weave into the story an image of God that is completely distorted. In the atheist tradition, God is represented as a blood thirsty tyrant who has a lust for torture and vengeance. Such things as grace, love, honor, and forgiveness as well as other Christian virtues seem to be conveniently absent in The Brick Bible. To Smith, God is the villain of the story. It is no wonder why he markets it at the Freethinker's Convention, it is a Bible for atheists.Read full review
