There have been too few bolwing movies made and most of them poke fun at the sport. This DVD however, is PERFECT for the Bowling fan. This a documentary style film that profiles the new PBA mgmt and their plans to revitalize the sport as a marketable product. The priorites oare change the bowling stereotypes, getting sponsors for the tour, and increase TV viewership by rofiling the top PBS bowlers. I really enjoyed the behind the scenes look into the sport. Note: The film is rate R for some bad language.
This movie provides an excellent insite as to the inner workings of the PBA. The language in this movie can be a little on the harsh side. If you are a fan of the PBA telecasts then you should take the time to seek out this movie. The extra materials on the DVD are also well worth the price. Hope this review helps you in your decision.
I purchased (can't recall when or from who) some 10-12 years ago and was absolutely appalled at the extremely abusive manner in which the former Nike executives who bought the PBA railed at the crowd of professional bowlers during the initial meeting. So profane and threatening was their manner that I could hardly believe what I was seeing. More like boot camp on Parris Island. The high praise of the other reviewers may say more about them than did the movie.
