I enjoyed this movie... it looked very realistic and followed what I knew about Idi Amin. However in the bonus features it showed that there was NO Scottish doctor, that it was a fictional account. Nowhere did I see that before viewing the movie! There were a couple of white doctors in Amin's sphere of contacts, but no person like was portrayed in the movie. Other than that, Forest Whitaker was great in the role, Gillian Anderson was way underused, and James McAvoy portrayed the 'Scottish Doctor' very well. It was a shame this was not a true story....
I liked fine display of detailed description of Amin's murderous rampage. An excellent performance by main characters of the movie. But, there was something lacking in reference to some events happened during Amin's Uganda regime. They could have done better with wider display of the events led to Amin's seize of control and his eventual dimise. As far as the quality of DVD is concerned, there is a lot to be desired. Another word, the DVD was in very poor quality.
Forest Whitaker has increased his acting skills to a higher level than ever before in this movie. Many evil men have ruled in different parts of the world and the story of Idi Amin is no exception, Whitaker brings his role " up close and personal " which gives you a deeper understanding of both the actor and the man. I told all my friends to watch this movie.
This movie is one of good black history month biographies.

Interesting movie. As always, James McAvoy is a delight. Quick clip of him completely naked is a bonus I wasn't expecting!
