I bought three, expensive, high gloss K-8 8 string KALA ukeleles, thinking they were the best. They are not. This Lanikai is. Why? The KALA's A strings are too close together, which means they can't ring independently and create the required harmonies, because they are touching each other. This much less expensive, satin finish Lanikai has the A strings further apart, so they ring independently and thus give a better sound.
