I had borrowed this book from my daughter, Jean and wanted it for my own library. It tells you step by step about trees, shrubs groundcovers and vines. It is a great reference book and tells you how to plant and the size of the plant when it matures. Since I do not have a grren thumb, I found it to be a very useful tool in planting my rock garden. My neighbor Faith who took horticulture in high school borrowed my Daughter's book, and we ordered one for her library too, as she was also very impressed with it and thougggght that it was one of the best reference books, that she had seen about landscaping for the honmowner, and written so the average person could understand it.
I like this book because it is logically organized and has many special features for quick reference which pass along the collective wisdom of the folks who contributed to this book. As an amateur in landscaping, this book has helped me plan my project and understand the order and content of the major steps.

There is lots of info and directions. I really like the pictures up close at each plant and how large a plant will get when full grown. Will be super helpful while landscaping a new lot.
