Like all Loc-Tite products, this stuff is Bad-A$$. Had stripped threads in a cast iron cylinder head where the intake manifold bolts on. After making the repair per instructions, I was able to get 15 ft-lbs. of torque on a 3/8-16 bolt with no sign of eminent re-stripping. Good enough. The last time I used this was about 25 years ago. It did a great job in a similar situation. I recommend using something like tetrachloroethylene - a.k.a. perchlorethylene (the nonflammable type of brake parts cleaner) to clean the threads to be repaired.

Purchased it to repair stripped threads to the derby cover on a Harley. Instructions said it would not take the torque values specified in the service for a 1/4 - 20 bolt. Ended up repairing with a Helo coil instead. Larger bolts looked better for this....have not had an opportunity to use it.

used this on a friends gun, the hold down bolt was stripped and the only way to fix that was to replace it or try this product, it worked great. gun was an older model marlin 60 that was a gift. meant a lot to be able to repair it so her son's could learn to shoot the gun that she and her dad did.

Restoring vintage bicycles is my hobby. I have a 1984 Peugeot PGN-10 with stripped down tube bosses for the shifters. The bosses are 9.3mm in diameter and the original tappings were for M5 screws and a thread pitch of 0.8mm. Retapping for a larger screw or a threaded insert would have required the removal of steel thus reducing the wall thickness of the boss and weakening the brazed on base. Loctite form-a-thread epoxy was the perfect solution. By following the instructions exactly the form-a-thread created a strong new core in the bosses, leaving a non-obvious, non-destructive repair for the upgrade restoration project.

Your results may vary but it did not work on my mounted M5 stripped nut. I tried it several times. In the end I used my welder to weld a backing nut on the component. I really wanted this product to work but it is just too week to work.
