This purchase was for my future 1st grandchild's baby shower. It was my favorite book as a child. I wanted him to have it too. Not only did I buy it new, but attached a vocal CD of my voice reading it to him, for him to have, once the years have removed me from this earth. (I wish that I'd have had a recording my mom's voice, for my kids). I also recorded (prior to reading it aloud) how much that I looked forward to his arrival, and how much that I loved him!) The book is loaded with color and will be fun to read and follow along, when he's old enough! I'm SO glad that it is STILL in print. I love that book! JCL
This is the classic tale of the little engine that could with the same great encouraging message. This version has updated illustrations and the large book is easy to read and makes it easier for my 3 year old to "read" it to me!
My daughter is going through a "Thomas the Tank Engine" phase and my husband looked all over for this book. The story is the classic "I think I can" but the illustrations have all been redone, and they are beautiful. My daughter loves the book, and the message of never giving up and believing in yourself is a fundamental lesson we should all teach our children.
This edition is a nice big book with colorful pictures and a great story. My sons were asking questions during the reading because they couldn't wait to see what happened next. I guess I didn't read fast enough.
A timeless classic. You can't go wrong with this book. It is a book that all children in any generation can appreciate. It teaches the value of not giving up and with hard work, they can achieve anything. Who can forget the phrase....I think I can, I think I can.
