I bought this phone to replace my Galaxy Rush which had stopped responding to touch. I love LG and thought this would be a great phone. Which the phone has an acceptably nice sized screen and for the most part is pretty swift and responsive to the touch. Apps run more or less smoothly and the lighting is really nice to adjust (it has the brightness icon that you just tap and it adjusts simply by tapping). That's where the good ends. Call quality really sucks. There is a static quality to all calls, so half the time I can't make out what the person is saying. And the calls that are better, the words of the person (even automated machines like your bank) will rise to average volume, then drop really low mid-word. And that's on a good call. Through Boost I have the texted voice mail system. I used to be able to read all voice mails in text form. Now, when I get a new voice message, it just shows a blank screen. Battery isn't great. But, considering it's a smartphone, it's not really bad. I own a Lucid 2, and it does have better battery life than the Venice, but smartphones by default have poor battery life. I own both the LG Lucid 2 and the Venice. And the Venice fails to impress me.Read full review
The phone works pretty good, and I bought it slightly used. I think that the battery that came with it is really bad because it takes a really long time to charge now and when it does charge now it doesn't even last me a full day! Its way less than it should be and so far that is the main thing that I do not like about this phone. Of course I can always buy a extended life battery and then my phone would be fine. So the ease of use for the smart phone is great and its not hard to figure out how to use it. I would recommend this phone to anyone who wants a cheaper smartphone that works good! The price I paid for this phone was worth it to me because it works really good for me! Hope that this helps somebody!
This phone was supposed to be the best "bang for your buck" of those currently offered by Boost. Considering Boost renegged on their "lifetime" shrink to $35 when I got this, saying I would now HAVE to pay $40 for all the "special features and speed" I'd be getting. BULL! While the screen is bigger, it is NO WAY faster than my old Galaxy Prevail was, and the battery life - they should be ASHAMED of themselves! I bought aftermarket extended capacity batteries to TRY to make it better, and it did... somewhat. NOW I can usually get through the day without completely draining the batteries IF I don't use it very much. Before It could drain with nothing running in the background and sitting unused in my pocket all day. Called LG to see if they could shed some light. They said shut off the GPS and Wi-Fi. THANKS!!! In other words, turn OFF the only features that set it apart from my much older cell phone? Do yourself and your wallet a favor and PASS on this turkey. I'm ready to drop Boost over this as well. There are other no-contract phones out there, and now might be the time to explore them.Read full review
I got my first Android phone in Oct 2012 and it was not very good for what I was looking for, standard and not very user friendly, so I did a little more research and spotted the LG Venice a few months later in Feb 2013. Not only did I like the name but the sleek, thin, light weight design and shiny case got my attention fast. The features of the 5MP Camera with LED Flash & VGA Front Facing (makes missing the grand kids easier when you can see them), 720p HD Video Recording, 4.3 Touch Screen (great for gaming and reading emails), OS Jelly bean 4.1 (nice speed for quick loading), Quick Memo (awesome in it self, use it all the time) and standard stuff like Music player, Call waiting, Portrait to Landscape auto-rotate, Speakerphone, Voice-activated dialing, and the list goes on... I like what LG created with the thinking process of this phone. I wouldn't change this one except to upgrade it's already great features, great product and great customer service to a LG Venice II if they decided to super charge this awesome phone.Read full review
I love this phone except for the battery life. You definitely have to keep your charger with you. Other than that, the phone is awesome. I can take pics and write sayings on them or write a memo on the home screen. Being able to change the widgets on your home screens and changing the way your home screen flips is pretty neat. Another dislike about the phone is the speaker. If it is on full volume it is hard to understand the caller, you have to turn it down. I do wish the phone was a little bigger, about the size of the Galaxy Note 2. I would recommend this phone to anyone
