I bought the LG Prime to replace the cell phone that came with my wireless contract. It was only $60 new in the box yet has the features of much more expensive phones. Its call clarity is terrific, someone even asked if I was on my home phone. The touch screen menu is easy to navigate and is also very accurate to the touch. The FM radio feature is nice and the reception is great. This phone also works very well as an MP3 player, with nice speakers built in as well as a regular headphone jack and high sound quality. For $5 I added a 4gig memory card (it can use up to a 16 gig mem card)so there is plenty of room for photos music ect. Its web browser is limited but can acess sites like Google, Yahoo, Ebay and other popular sites. I was able to put Google Maps on it and it works very nice for driving directions while on the road. The phone is on the smaller side, very thin so it makes it easy to carry around ect. The only drawback for me is that it uses the Edge data network and not 3g. While it is not a smartphone, it does almost everything my wife's smartphone does and is about half the size and a fraction of the cost. I would highly suggest this phone to anyone using a cheap free phone provided by your carrier, or as a replacement for a lost or damaged phone untill you get a free upgrade.Read full review
When I received the phone I was very excited. Finally I have a touch screen phone. After playing around with the LG GS390 I found out that this phone has a very slow processor. It litterally takes about 2 minutes just to access my pictures on the phone. And the phone never remembers the pictures that are in the database of the phone, what I mean is, is if you accidently exit out of your IMAGES, or PICTURES you will again have to wait for another 2 minutes until it remembers what images you have stored on the phone or microSD card. One thing that shocked me was that it can act like an MP3 player, I didn't remember seeing anything about being able to plug in a 3.5mm headphone jack into the phone so I can enjoy my own music, and plus with the microSD slot I can put in a ton of memory. But when using the music section of the phone I had to have my phone load up for about 4 minutes until I was finally able to use the music, good news though after waiting for the music to all be recognized by the phone you no longer have to sit there and wait just to listen to your music. The music quality is as comparable to most MP3's. Personally I can not tell the differance between a Zune and an Ipod in quality. LG GS390's music quality sounds to be the exact same as these MP3's or MP4's. Has Equalizer abilities, music ID, Music Apps, Shop music, Shuffle, seperate your orginization in All Songs, Playlists, Aritsts, Albums, and Genres. Applications are able to be installed on this phone. I have not tried to install the apps, because I have not put internet onto my phone plan. Text messaging on this phone is very simular to that of an iphone, and when i say that don't take it litterally you can't take pictures of your conversation during the text conversations that you were having. I mean that you can see the whole conversation of what you and one other person have been talking about without having to open 10-50 texts just to see if you accidently sent out the wrong text to that person, because the phone show what you send out and what you have received from each specific number that contacts you via text. Pictures are crystal clear for a phone, but again if you would like to view all of the photos that you have taken you might want to just select it then go and start sorting out your laundry. The LG GS390 is very easy to use I doubt you will get confused. There is a feature on the phone that took me for suprise that is the quick access to making an alarm, going to music, changing phone alerts, like vibe or ring, and accessing many other applications built into the phone. The LG GS390 can perform just as well as any MP3 out there, except this one can take pictures, make phone calls and text. Yes a Droid and an Iphone is much better but in comparison to the price and all you want is text, phone, music and pictures this is worth the money. I have not had any problems with this phone other than the processor. If the processor was fixed that would change the value of the LG GS390 by price making it more appealing than the Iphone or Droid because it would be able to do everything that they do, your just not going to have to pay $500 for it.Read full review
Prior to the LG GS390 Prime I had no experience with any iphones. I ordered a sim card from Simplemobile and with a few online clicks and cell id numbers I was talking/texting in minutes without any tech support. The LG GS390 would not connect to the web. I called Simple Mobile support. They sent me two text files. I clicked on "INSTALL" while still on the phone and my phone now connects to the web after only 45 seconds with tech support. ***On the downside...this phone is loaded with AT&T bloatware. I cannot save any of my favorite websites to favorites. When I try I get an AT&T sign up account meassage. I have Simple Mobile $40 per month unlimited text, talk, and web. Why would I want to sign up for AT&T? I have ordered the usb cable and the 16GB micro SD card. I am researching everything I can about jailbreaking/rooting iphones in order to rid the annoying AT&T built in apps that prevent me from using my phone freely. I love the ability to clean out my emails before I come home from work. I like the built in FM radio with over 20 presets. I am very happy with my LG GS390 iphone. I am excited to learn more about this phone as I proceed with my rooting education. I have found a few sites that have a small fee that will assist with the total unlocking of this iphone. I will probably go that root because I don't want to turn my beautiful phone into an expensive paperweight.Read full review
The LG Prime is typically a GO phone so it lacks some features like at&t navigator and such but has some really cool extras that I think over rules it. It for one has an FM radio that gets a really clear reception, it has a responsive touch screen and the messaging is simple and easy to use. It has voice command which can be touchy but if you work with it it's not too bad. Overall this phone is a great buy and worth it's money.
I love this phone!! People complain that it locks up right away after making a call, but that is so ur face don't touch the touch screen and hang up... And the lil button on the side will open it right back up... It light weight and the battery last for 6 hours of talk time... All day texting. And I just think it is an all around great product, and I would highly recommend this phone to anyone... Simple yet full of easy to use features!! Way to go lg.. Thank you for this fine product!! I would buy this phone again!!
