Having lost my LG Shine (CU720) earlier, I decided to buy a touchscreen phone. I wanted something relatively cheap yet feature-filled. I decided on the LG Incite. It's default settings when having arrived, WM 6.1 and loaded with AT&T bloatware, made the response a little bit slower, but overall it was good. Good things: Battery life is quite good. I can last the whole day without problems, and I use it a lot so if you're likely to leave it on standby for a good majority of the day, it could probably last a long time. Also, it has a normal-sized headphone jack. A lot of phones don't even have this necessary feature but instead have proprietary plugs so this was a good feature. The camera/camcorder, was 3 megapixels which, although lackluster in comparison to actual Cameras or other phones, such as the LG Viewty, was very good. It's USB cable isn't proprietary in that the cord is quite common to a lot of devices. Now the touchscreen... It's responsive, but not multi-touch (expected). Enabling things in the gesture section will make this much better. It's pretty good. Better than some, worse than others; not much you can complain about. (Note: Although there's gonna be a lot of bad things, they still aren't as strong in comparison to the good things) Bad things: Where to start... The phone, compared to the metal LG Shine, is very light and slightly flimsy in feeling. In addition, it is easily scratcheable. Coolcamera (a WM app) doesn't work. Also, it's phone interface has a like 1 centimeter tall area for contacts so you have to actually open the contact interface to get people. In comparison to the Motorola and the HTC Today screens, this one really fails. In the default setting (although firmware upgrades enable you to edit it), the toolbar can't be changed and there is a lot of junk I feel takes a lot of space up. The 3G data can't be turned off easily (or at all, without third-party applications) and the default applications for connections are not combined at all so you have to use many different applications to change the connection settings. Although this may not be important, if you open the LG Camera application, you can't minimize it or do anything while it's running. Who doesn't want to run the camcorder app while the phone is doing something else! The Ugly: The default icons and stuff make this phone look decades old in comparison to the iPhone. Installing some nice freeware can change this, but having default applications that look appealing (Have you seen the HTC Calculator? Now that's a nice app) would be a great selling-point. Updating to WM 6.5 alleviated some of those problems, but the iPhone interface is still topnotch. (Who wants an inefficient hexagonal application interface!?) Overall, I would say that even though I've complained so much, it's still a great product. It's been doing what I want it to do and many third-party solutions can solve most of the problems I've listed. Well, I have to say that this phone is not average. It's good and the price point makes this an excellent deal in comparison to similar sized HTC phones.Read full review
This is an excellent starter smart phone. It is extremely affordable and as many of the features that the more expensive iPhone has. I purchased this for my wife and she loves it. Web browsing, youtube, facebook, and email all over wifi so no expensive data package. The only thing that could be little better is the Windows interface. It is not as easy to navigate and figure settings as the iPhone. I saw a theme that can be installed that makes it a lot easier to use. I will have to experiment with this. If you are techie or just want to get your feet wet with a smartphone without spending a lot of money, I say give this a try.
Hi, first of all, exist a lot of reviews already here in Ebay and the Web, all are a "mix" of experiences with the phone... some bad, some good... some so so... I had 1 of this phone (... and other in the way, sell other); at the glance, the phone is beauty, nice form factor and loaded with great features(WiFI, GPS without data plan, FM radio, 3.5 mm headset socket, etc), out of the Box the phone is really slow with the Stock firmware (´coz is loaded with "bloatware" that not help to performance, speed and stability, sorry AT&T), anyone that knows about Winmo OS, knows that is necesary make a "soft Reset" every day for prevent "sluggish", this if you are a active user (web browser, listen music, edit documents, thread SMS, GPS navigation, etc...) BUT if you search in the web, exist a lot of resources for "Mod" the phone and take advantage of all the potential from this machine, for example: a lot of people say that the phone is really slow, if you upgrade to a new ROM, actually is clean of the mayor carrier sofware, that no help to improve the capacity of work, with a new Rom this phone is pretty faster with the most of programs designed for Win Mobile... other people say that the touch Screen is very "unresponsive" compared to an Iphone, Sure, it´s true, but the screen of iphone is capacitive type (more responsive than Resistive type, Incite have resistive screen), then put your finger hard in the screen and... after a months your touch is loose... ok and the same, exist a tweak for improve the sensitivity of the lg incite Screen... and work really well!!!! (only search in google)... But, not every in the phone is good, i really like that this phone was made with better materials (ok plastic, but better quality...) or Aluminum, or a mix of these, i dont like the mirror efect in the front panel, ´coz in a sunny day you can suffer of a "eye Pain" try to read anything (for this set the brightness to max)... a "D-Pad" (change a song is a bit hard only using touch screen when carry in the pocket...) then, Nutshell: BUY THIS PHONE if you have a bit of knowlodgement for change the AT&T Rom for other Better and make some "easy system tweaks", install programs that really help the phone (again web search), if you make this, you can enjoy this phone! DONT BUY THIS PHONE if you use out of the box, dont upgrade SO, stay in love or have "fever" of iphone, have killer or fat fingers, expect HTC desire, hero, doid performance, etc For less than 100 bucks here in ebay without contract (and 5 bucks more for sim unlock if the phone is AT&T locked and you use other carrier), you can obtain a good phone, believe me thanks for read, From Colombia with love ;-)Read full review
I've had this phone for a couple of weeks now, and am very impressed with it. I have had no glitches or problems, and every application seems to work well. I chose this phone for the WiFi feature as I will not pay for a data plan. The Wifi works very well, although I would like to be able to save multiple profiles that include both DHCP enabled networks and Specific IP address networks (so far I haven't got that figured out). Call clarity is very good and the contacts views are great. I don't use the camera or video features nor the music playback stuff so I can't speak to those. Overall - If you want a reliable phone with good WiFi capability, this one is for you.
I really like the look and the size of this phone. I bought this phone recently and its two+ years old and yet I can still use this phone with a pretty high amount of screen use (internet usage, text messaging) and talking on it and still have battery life to spare. I am really impressed by the battery life. The only dislike I have is the operating system, the provided OS (Windows Mobile 6.1) is ok at best. It was laggy and locked up more than I would have liked. It also had tiny menus and for a guy with large hands like me it was kind of difficult to navigate. However, I updated the OS to Windows Mobile 6.5.x and I have to say, this OS is 100x's better it is much less laggy (as long as you keep an eye on your memory usage) and has a great user interface. It does lock up sometimes but much less. The accelerometer is also a bit slow for my taste, it can take 3 to 5 seconds to switch. In conclusion I would buy this phone again for the price I payed ($54) and if you do decide to buy this phone make sure you do research on how to update your ROM (OS)(I knew nothing about updating ROMs when I got the phone but thanks to the folks at LG-Incite.com it was a piece of cake). You will want to update your ROM (Windows Mobile 6.5 really isn't too bad) and there is also a possible Android ROM coming out for it, which I would love to try out. Hope this helps.Read full review
