The LG G Pad 8.3 came out in 2013 as a serious competitor for the second generation Google Nexus 7. They both have a 1920x1200 display cover Corning Gorilla Glass screen although the LG's is 8.3" vs the Nexus's 7.0". They both come with 2GB RAM and 16GB*** storage space although the LG's can be expanded with a microSD card up to 64GB. The Nexus has a quad 1.5GHz processor while the one in the LG is either 1.5 or 1.7GHz (I have seen both numbers listed as specs.) Unless you need the latest bells and whistles both tablets are top-notch survivors from 2013 although you will usually find the Nexus selling for 50-100% more than the LG. BTW Verizon apparently sold quite a few of the VK810 G Pad 8.3 tablets under contract for 2 bills so there is a wide selection of them for very reasonable prices here at eBay *** The Nexus 7 is also available with 32GB although that model is more expensive and less common. P.S. I did not want to post this review until I was able to buy 2 of them at very reasonable prices (why encourage people to bid against me? ;-) ) Although the battery life for the LG is decent enough when I find a tablet that I really like I want to have 2 of them so that when I run down the battery on one of them I can quickly switch over to the other.Read full review

Google has left a trail of broken promises. This tablet represents one of them. As a "G Pad" this unit was supposed to receive upgrades right alongside the Google-branded tablets. Unfortunately this was still left to the individual manufacturer, and LG has, to say the least, dropped the ball. Yes, it is possible to upgrade to Lollipop, but it requires the patience to read the geek blogs and also the stomach to blow away later upgrades in order to be able to apply Lollipop. Meanwhile, LG appears to have gone Missing In Action; their tech support basically pretends this item never existed. With persistence and a bit of geekology you can upgrade this to at least Lollipop, or so I am told. But the promise of further upgrades is just that: a promise not backed up by any discernible program to actually ISSUE those upgrades. Thus the low price tag for a very powerful, very nicely assembled unit. You should pretty much count on Lollipop being the end of the road, if you ever get there. Say it ain't so, LG and Google. Pretty lame.Read full review

This is the most truly high quality tablet on the earth! I respectfully for LG Company who make this LG G Pad V500!!! It's kicked-ass than Apple Ipad AIR! You can do Live wallpaper You can do Multiple Wallpaper You can do more on 1920x1080. the IPAD Retina is not real resolution display. You can enjoy more larger screen and thin and lightest. You have this Wifi A/C or 5GHz wifi to run fast. You'll enjoy best webcam, camera, shooting camera, and there's more, I can't explains why this is one of the best!
This is a great little pad. I have used it going across country a couple of times. It worked very well running off of AT&T. Easy to use.
