I liked my original LG Acccolade Verizon phone, so I bought another one just like it as a replacement. Mine was getting old, (8 yrs), and showing signs of wear. My new phone arrived and was excited to go to my Verizon dealer to get it activated, My excitement was turned into disappointment, as I was told that Verizon no longer will activate phones with a 3G network. With that said I can not truly review this phone as I was never able to use it. I did use the new battery for my old phone and that works great. I do not know if other companies will activate 3G phones, but you should check first, before purchasing this product. I would say they are basically obsolete and I am not sure why there are so many for sale on line. While companies are selling you 4G technology, they are developing 5G technology. While the new phone was described as a Verizon compatible phone, when I called to set it up, the robo response was Cell One.Read full review

** BE WARNED THAT THIS PHONE IS ALSO AVAILABLE AS A PRE-PAID PHONE AND PRE-PAID PHONES NEED TO HAVE AT LEAST SIX MONTHS OF CONTINUOUS SERVICE BEFORE IT CAN BE ACTIVATED ON A REGULAR CONTRACT ACCOUNT** The LG VX5600 Accolade is an all around great basic phone to have! The look is very clean and professional. The layout is nice and the large numbers make it quick and easy to dial! The software is fast and responds quickly while browsing the phone or while texting. Reception is great and sounds as good as every other phone I've had with Verizon. Battery life is outstanding. The phone is also very compact which makes it easy to carry around but also some what of a challenge when trying to open the phone with just one hand if you have fairly large hands. In order to remedy that problem I did order a clear hard cover - which fits like a glove and has remained intact with the phone during the two times that I have dropped it already!- and it has made the phone easier to open while using only one hand. There is no motion picture option and while the Accolade does take great looking pictures, you really can't take very many due to a lack of an SD slot. Bummer. All in all LG VX5600 Accolade is a great no frills phone that does what it needs to do and does it very well.Read full review
This a great phone for someone that wants just a basic phone. Good signal strength and sounds great on both ends. Easy to use and a good physical size. I is a touch smaller than a business card when closed. Battery life is awesome. I am not a heavy phone user (no home phone, just a cell)but today is 7/10/10 and the last time I charged the phone was 6/16/10 and I still have two bars left. But I don't text, email, bluetooth or surf the web with it. One of the reasons I choose this one is it charges through USB. So you can charge anywhere there is a computer. The only negitive is you can not transfer pictures through the USB cable or bluetooth and I am not going to email them to myself at $.25 a pop; so the camera will not get used. I bought the same thing at Wal-Mart and tried to assign it to my contract account through the web site and failed. Web site said you can not put a pre-pay phone on my account. So I returned it. Then I bought this one on ebay, but the listing did not have a picture, so I didn't know I was getting the same thing. You have to assign it to your account by dialing *228, enter your phone number and the last four of your SS# and it works. My account now says pre-pay on it, but my bill has not changed for the past two months. This is a great phone for my needs and if something happens to this one, I will be buying another one like it.Read full review
I decided to buy a plain basic Verizon cell phone after getting an Android Acer Iconia a500 Tablet. I liked the way it did 'everything' I needed a smartphone to do plus it had the 10" screen. Since RIM never saw fit to include the 'hotspot' feature in my Blackberry, I decided why keep paying for the BB service when a basic phone would do, so I added a VZW MIFI 4G Hotspot to my account for wireless to go for my tablet and started shopping for a basic phone for voice and texting. I bought the LG Accolade VX5600 because it seemed to fit the bill for both of these needs. It is thin and trim, and also has a camera and voice dialing - and Verizon's Backup Assistant works with this model. The one con I have found is my particular phone doesn't seem to ring loud enough on all the ringer type ring tones except one, but that one is ok. My wife has a vx5600 also and her ringer can be heard in the next room.Read full review
