Due to extreme budgetary constraints, I spent a considerable amount of time doing research before purchasing a flat screen TV. One of my most important criteria was a TV which had the capability to play video files via a USB port. According to LG's advertising, the 39LN5300 had that capability. To make sure that was the case,I attempted to email LG to find out for sure. However, when I tried to send an email the 39LN5300 was nowhere listed as a choice, so i resorted to online chat for information. According to the LG representative the 39LN5300 had the capability to play video. Thinking that to actually be the case, I purchased an JG 39LN5300. Once I had the TV up and running I tried, with no success to play a some video files via the USB port. Hoping there might be a firmware solution, I once again turned to LG's online chat. at. The representative was ill-informed but assured me he would research the issue and get back to me. Needless to say, I have yet to hear back from LG. I don't expect to. Along with the video file/USB issue there are blemishes on the TV's screen which have been there since from the beginning. I have no idea what the cause is. Also, the TV simply quits every so often. The screen goes black and the audio goes silent. It only lasts for a second or so, but it's very annoying. Unfortunately, I can't afford to pay to ship the TV back to Adorama, or I would for a complete refund. So I'm stuck with an inferior product with no recourse. I might also add that the user's manual is nowhere near as comprehensive as it should be. You would be correct in concluding that I am a dissatisfied costumer who will neither purchase another LG product nor recommend their products to anyone.Read full review
