Does just what it is supposed to do. I use phones for talking, occasionally texting. Not for staring at and living through 5 hours a day so it is perfect. Small and great battery life.

Had one, dropped it, needed new one. Has taken me weeks to get it properly set up. Manufacturer now includes more Apps than this little baby can handle. Therefore it overloads and the system goes haywire. Needs Manufacture reset and even then I have kept the wifi OFF. The original had none of these problems. Therefore, from that standpoint, the same old, same old isn't.

I purchased this for my husband for his first smartphone due to its easy use. He complained of a few issues, but I thought at first it was just him. I recently purchased one for my daughter, basically for a temporary phone until she can get a contracted phone. She had problems within the 2nd week of use. Both have problems with even the pre-loaded apps and the screen locking up. The battery life is incredible, and very easy to learn, but I honestly will never buy another. Even though they are inexpensive I would like it to work, and both need to be replaced already.
Great little phone but don't think because you see it on assurance wireless's site it's compatible & acceptable with their plan because it's not!The Kyocera Event only works with Virgin Mobil only!Assurance refuses anything not considered as a PAYLO phone.Yet good little phone for the money & pretty easy to use for any Virgin Mobil user just short battery life before needing a charge.Otherwise?I'd consider it great other than those 2 facts & fact it does not use sim cards
I bought one and in three weeks the battery was shot. It runs down in about 4 hours (while not talking, just keeping it on) and takes a full 6-7 hours to charge. I called the manufacturer and they told me after I signed up for an account and paid on the service for a couple of months then they would replace the battery. The gal on the phone kept telling me it was right in the user agreement, that statement you can't read until you get the phone home, open it, and then you can read the booklet. I finally just bought a new battery on ebay for $3.50. It is buggy, full of problems, the icons float around in a ridiculous manner. You have to keep looking for an icon to see where it went to by changing screens. (sliding the screen allows you to see what is behind that particular screen.) I have to actually turn it off between phone calls. When I hear the click then it is as though it resets and I can make another call. Otherwise it locks and freezes and I can't do anything with it. It's currently 5 weeks old. Due to it being buggy, horrible customer service, no warranty until you have paid for their service for 2 months on top of the cost of the phone, I would not buy another. I don't need the service that you pay for on top of the phone, I only needed a phone to use with the Magic Jack attached to my computer. I can't imagine how much worse it would be if I actually needed all the (limited) features on this phone.Read full review
