The Kyocera Duramax cell phone from Sprint is a basic and an excellent phone for people who are afraid of technology. The keypad has big numbers although a little hard to press, easy to find menus, easy and simply OS, and ruggedized body. I bought this cell phone as a replacement for my mother and she loves it. Some recommended tweaks to help your parents have a pleasant experience: change the font size to large, speed dial, disable push to talk featured, and change to use only the Sprint network to avoid roaming charges. Reception is good so far. No internet or messaging where tested.
I have this phone as a personal phone, and I will admit that it's a great phone. Although it isn't a smartphone, this phone is simple to use, and can carry a Nextel Area Network almost flawlessly. It is also very durable. I would highly recommend this phone to users who LOVE the Nextel Direct Connect feature with the Sprint CDMA network. Phone calls never drop for me, and PTT feature is a great edition to this new Technology Sprint is pushing out. Battery could be better, but what battery is perfect on a Mobile device? Good Price too!
Not feature rich or for browsing the Internet, but just "phone". Refreshing change from the constant notifications...
