Konica has produced literally dozens of lenses (both fixed and variable length) over the years, yet the AR 35-70mm f/3.5 is by far my most favorite. Why ? One word: flexibility. The 35-70mm can do just about everything all from a compact, two-touch, lightweight housing. It even has a built-in macro switch for close-up's. Add the Konica 55mm macro filter, and now you have even greater magnification. Switch to the 2x teleconverter doubler and now you have a 70-140mm lens capable of midrange to portrait works. By itself the 35-70mm is capable of moderate wide angle to standard and even the lower end of zoom framing for average needs. After years of lugging around three or four lenses to do all this, it was a real joy to find a single f/3.5 aperture item that could do it all in one small package. And, did I mention the price ? Here on ebay I found this mint condition, original Konica Hexanon lens for less than $35 - a fraction of what it was at retail back in its day. In fact, I saved enough to get that X24 flash, or maybe the diopter correction lens, or.... Well, I think you get the idea.Read full review
