I rely on my point and shoot Kodak Z1012IS super-zoom camera for almost all of my candid street photos. And I prefer genuine Kodak rechargeable lithium ion batteries to power it. I've tried third party replacements from different sources and makers. So far, none of them have outlasted the ORIGINAL Kodak KLIC 8000 that came with my Z1012. After 4 years use, part of the casing has fallen off the original battery but it still takes a charge and works flawlessly in the camera - priceless! Now that I know the deal, I pay the few extra cents to purchase OEM Kodak batteries for my carry-around shooter.
I needed a spare rechargeable battery for my digital camera. I wanted a name brand so I purchased the Kodak battery. This battery has ample reserve power to keep my camera operating for dozens of photos. It can be recharged over and over again. My current battery was also a Kodak. There are cheaper batteries, but at least with Kodak you know you are buying quality. My original Kodak lithium battery that came with my camera that I purchased in 2006 still recharges.
Original equipment batteries seem to work better and last longer in overall life and rechargeable times as well in my camera than the aftermarket brands

The battery has performed as well as the original battery. Just how durable it is remains to be seen. Perhaps the above question could be altered to reflect "durability."
