I wanted this model as my old camera gave up the ghost. I have all the related attachments etc that go with this Kodak. I was surprised though that the clamp that holds the battery in place doesn't snap into position and I am unsure how long this will work. Right now it is holding tight despite the clamp not functional.

This camera is very simple to use a sturdy enough for the rigors of hunting fishing and camping. The lens is quality and the pictures sharp true and clear. This is my second Z730. The first succumbed to being left outside during a severe storm. Water is not the cameras friend

I bought this camera as a gift for a relative who wanted a shorter shutter lag than she was experiencing with her camera. I have the same model, which I have used for probably 4 years now. I chose it in part because of the short shutter lag time, but also because it has a viewfinder. Does nobody take pictures in sunlight anymore? You can't see &%$# on an LCD screen in the sun. A camera without a viewfinder is WORTHLESS for outdoor photography in bright sunlight... and NOBODY makes them anymore unless you are willing to spend the big bucks for an SLR camera. I just want a point-and-shoot... with a VIEWFINDER. THIS camera has one! The other thing I really like about it is the rechargeable battery pack. Yes, you have to plan ahead and have your battery charged (and, if you're smart, a charged spare) but these batteries are so much longer-lasting and reliable in cold conditions than alkaline batteries. I have taken this model backpacking at altitude, and I had no trouble with the battery in cold weather. If you want a really high-res camera for large-format prints, get something with more megapixels, but for regular snapshot-sized photos this camera is great.Read full review

Ive been through a couple different digital cameras and they have all shared a common theme. They either chew up over the counter batteries or have weak rechargable batteries that wont stay charged. I now have two Z730 cameras and also the 4 MP 10X zoom version, they are fabulous cameras. The 5 mp is not much by todays standards, but there comes a point when extra megapixels are only usefull for blowing pictures up and I find the 5 mp camera more than adequate for basic family shots and casual use. There are several aspects of these particular cameras that are fantastic, especialy the big Li-ion batteries. Ive taken hundreds of shots at disneyland and the battery stayed up all day long (including several short vidieos.) The german made optics combined with kodaks color science chip generate fabulous shots and the cameras are very well made. Also extremly user friendly, you can use auto mode or the more defined settings. I did a lot of research before deciding to try one of these old jewels and couldnt be happier with the results. Fantastic product.Read full review
