After experiencing the great sound of the RF- Reference 62-II speakers, which I still own, I purchased the Klipsch RP-280F Tower speakers (an open box 1 pair) at a reasonable price; I think. These speakers are powerful and loud. They have a Dual 8" Cerametallic Cone Woofers; compared to the RF 62-II only had dual 6" woofers. So far these speakers produce the known Klipsch sound quality. You would need a powerful amplifier to drive these speakers. As an example, I have a powerful vintage JVC amplifier which I used with the RF 62-II speakers. To produce a good loud sound out of these speakers, I only needed to turn the volume control knob approximately 1/4 of the Amp max capacity. Using the same amplifier with the RP-280F, I would have to turn the volume control knob to almost 1/2 of the Amp max capacity. I can't give these speakers a 5 stars reading because it is too early to tell; Also, these speakers aren't broken yet. I still need to do a lot more listening to ensure the speakers are performing correctly and defect free. **Dislike** The RF-62 II were designed with legs; which makes them look nice. The RP-280F lacks legs. For my personal taste, I wish Klipsch had kept the legs.Read full review
