I bought these because I needed bookshelf size speakers that are effecient to use with my early 60's Kenwood tube receiver. Most modern bookshelf speakers have an efficiency rating of 86-88db. These Klipsch are rated 95db. They are also front ported which works better in my listening space. All in all I am very pleased with the sound I am hearing. My Kenwood is model KW-60 and the manufacturer rated it at 30/wpc. It's a rare unit so there isn't a whole lot of info available about it. However one regular poster on the Steve Hoffman Forum who is very knowledgeable about tube amps/receivers told me he rebuilt one of these and believes the true specs are more like 20/wpc. With the previous speakers I have tried that were in the 86-88db range I had to turn the volume knob past 3/4 for vinyl and past 1/2 for CD to get adequate volume. And even then the sound seemed strained. Now, with these Klipsch speakers CD requires less than half way on the volume knob and vinyl between 1/2 and 3/4 BUT the sound is much better and not strained at all.Read full review

These are like all Klipsch Speakers, they deliver a bigger sound than their size might suggest. I've been a fan for years and remain so. The RB-61 II delivers good sound and are more than adequate for the 15'X20' room, where they serve as main L&R speakers. The layout of the room requires bookshelf, floor standing speakers would not really work. These are driven by a Denon AVR-X2200 and it seems a good fit. We aren't using a subwoofer and really don't need one, these have good bass response. Although I'm sure a sub would enhance the full home theater experience. Recommended, especially if you can get them for a good price.

One of the best of the best! These speaker will simply outperform others in just able every way possible. I've used these many times in professional installations and the sound quality is amazing. Of course these have been discontinued from production and new models are available. But for the money, these just can't be beat! If you can find these you should buy them. I've use several other brands but nothing else compares. Just wish I had used Klipsch starting years ago.

The speakers are awesome! Delivery time and packaging -'Open box' as described and carefully rewrapped, sealed, I have had a BIG Klipsch system before and now live in apartment with shared wall neighbors so I scaled back the system size and power and the choice of RB61ii fronts, SS-1 rears and eventual Klipsch center/sub makes this experience truly satisfying. I love the open sound field of Klipsch speakers and the build quality is exceptional.

Accurate sound reproduction, flat frequency response and aesthetically pleasing. This is a great speaker with big sound. Pair it with a Klipsh subwoofer and your golden. I have these in my home office. I have another pair of RB-61 II speakers as the main in my surround sound and they are phenomenal. For music or movies, these speakers are hard to beat. If I had it to do over, i would buy them again...in both cases.
