A true surround sound system if you have a sound card or receiver to send the 4 channel audio signal to it (if not you just get stereo sound). THX certified, uses Bash circuity for amplification. (2) 6.5" speakers in the sub is more total area than one 12" speaker. 400 watts allows plenty of power to the (4) satellite speakers. This system can't reproduce the lowest low like the Promedia 5.1 Ultra can but puts the Promedia 2.1 sub to shame. 110db peak output (very clean and clear sounding). The sub and its controller can be used to drive other 4 speaker sets (upgrade). Also, this system could be used in a 2.1 configuration or use a 'Y' adapter to create two rights and two lefts for a fuller sound if you lack a true 4 channel sound source. Hearing is believing. The sub output alone is worth it.Read full review
This is my third Klipsch Promedia set. The first was a 4.1 set which lasted for around 20 years before developing amp noise issues. Then I bought a 2.1 set for my work area a few years ago ( they are now paired with an Amazon Echo 'Dot' and sound fabulous for playing from Amazon Prime Music, Pandora, etc. I recently saw a good price on another 4.1 set and decided to go for it. I'm crazy about them, heh. Naturally, these aren't going to blow away a high end audiophile system, but they are THX certified and sound crisp and clean, with plenty of bass from the subwoofer for my smaller space. I drive them with an affordable HTPC (HP Laptop) through a FIIO E07K DAC. It only puts out 2 channels, so no 7.2 surround or other fancy stuff. However, the Klipsch outputs 4.1 sound that does a very nice job of creating an immersive environment if properly placed and your needs aren't too extreme. I can't jam too loudly with nearby neighbors, but these can put out more clean sound volume than I can use. I use the Sennheiser HD-580 'phones or the FiiO EX1 Nanotech Titanium In-Ear Monitors when I want to really rattle my brain. Of course, Klipsch stopped making these a few years ago, so snap them up if you can find 'em. They still have a lot of fans who consider them the best computer speakers out there. I'm slowly replacing resistors and capacitors on the old unit and will eventually get it back to 100% (the speakers are all fine, so if nothing else, they'll become satellites for an upgraded HT system. There are a couple of fellows who do repairs and upgrades ( search on ebay) and several sites with repair help & circuit plans, so there's always hope for bringing a problematic set back to health. Happy Listening & I hope this is useful to someone!Read full review

this klipsch 4.1 is a bit older now but that thing rocks. I'm a trumpeter so now I can sit at my desktop computer and enjoy all the music Youtube has to offer. i had to redo the foam on both bass speakers because they were busted (rot) when I bought the set used on Ebay. I also added an inline power switch.
