I bought the LaScala's to replace the Klipshorns that I used to have. Reason being, the versatility of placement while having almost identical sound reproduction. My Klipshorns only performed properly when located in a corner and there were only two corners in my home that they could be put in. The LaScala's, on the other hand, can be moved to wherever I want them. You can't beat the Klipsch sound and clarity. I had considered the Cornwall's, which is an excellant choice, also but the LaScala's perform better in both the mids and bass responses. Others might want to consider Belle's, but again I feel the LaScala has them beat for the same reasons as they beat the Cornwalls.
I owned a pair of La Scala's for over 30 years, they are some of the best speakers ever built. I feel they surpass the K-Horn because of their placement versatility. I set mine about 5' off the rear wall and 3' from the side walls as measured from the front center baffle. With about 8' between speakers, the same distance to the listening chair, and aimed to cross just at the listeners head. With this positioning the speakers image as good or better than anything I ever listened to. Amazing speakers with a 60+ year old design that still are at or very close to the state of the art in sound reproduction.

Always wanted a pair of these and now I am looking forward to refurbishing them. Not quite as much bass as I'd hoped for but overall still a good speaker even though a bit directional and large.
