The receiver's customizable display illumination lets you set the display and button to one of 10 preset colors, or customize the color range to match your dashboard ligh Bluetooth adapter allows you to make hands-free calls with your compatible phone. When a call comes in, the KDC-X693 mutes the music so you can converse over the car speakers. You'll also get a full-function remote control, so your passengers can pick the next tune or adjust the audio without hassling the driver. All in all the deck is awesome. the controlls take a bit to get used to and i dont like that there are no buttons, so do not loose your remote or changing a station will take a few seconds.Read full review
I personally Love this Car Stereo. The amount of control over audio, speakers, sound stage, media, and sources is exceptional. It is not a radio for someone who needs easy controls and simple menus. I'll admit it took me a while to learn and appreciate. The remote control is a nice size and is what i use the majority of the time. Certain functions are easier to perform on the remote, others require using the controls on the face. I Really like the rich colors and having a choice over color preferences is also a plus. The sound is very crisp and clean for the price range and it has a 4v pre-out for the Rca's. The direct Ipod control is Awesome as well. I have never become attached to a specific model stereo, but this one is a personal favorite. I love older Alpine designs, but in todays market Kenwood gives you so much more for your money.Read full review
This is a super head unit for the price. I thinks its affordable especially on ebay. Its got tons of tuning options to fine tune your music. Lots of power output if you want to keep it simple or if you want to go extreme. Me? I chose extreme and its a nice pc for my monster system. Also if you are a person who loves lights like neon interior or exterior you will love this receiver! it changes several different colors or you can have it stay on your fav. color. I love the usb and acc. cable option also allowing you to run an mp3 player off of it also. the added remote is cool to allowing you to really push your system outside of the car which you otherwise prob. couldn't stand from inside............. like mine ;) enjoy!
Its been about 10 years since I have owned a Kenwood head unit. My last 3 head units were Pioneer, they were good, but when I was looking for a new unit, I looked into the Kenwood Excelon, and I'm so glad I did. The 4.5v RCA output provides clean signal to my Rockford Fosgate amps. The built in hi pass/low pass crossover and 5 band eq work very nice. My reason for always going with Pioneers over the years was because the tuners were always the best, but this Kenwood blows it away. It does not pick up interference from cellphones either. The iPod control is by far the best that I have seen. I tested a lot of radios with my 30gig iPod video, and this radio is the best HANDS DOWN! I highly recommend this unit to anyone who want total audio control for their sound system on wheels!
I Love the ability to set up the sound within your car. Such as your high, mids, subs, and more. Also, the color changing apperance. I decided to buy this mainly. because it was designed especially for iPods. Which you hook up your iPod USB to the back to ipod. It charges your ipod, while giving it a clean look on your headunit. In addition, it displays the songs names and artist on the headunit. The only thing I dislike is the glare on the screen during the daym which makes it hard to see. In conclusion, I just love this headunit and is the best out now!!!
