Some Kathy Smith workout DVDs are not so good, but I'm glad I gave this one a try. I'm an experienced exerciser and prefer Cathe or Amy mostly, but like a variety. I found that Kathy is very natural and motivating in this one. She also looks nicely toned. I liked how intense the sculpt and core workouts are making the most use of the time spent. I really think what Kathy does best is core work. It's deliciously tough and unique. Overall, there is a lot of twisting and rotating to incorporate core and obliques which an intermediate to advanced exerciser can handle, but beginners may not know how it feels to use correct form and could hurt themselves. Love this one!
This is another great video by Kathy Smith. If you've done her workouts before, as I have for many years, then there are no surprises in here for you. But that aside it is intense and even though I'm used to lifting weights I needed to use light weights and still felt I had a good workout. The cueing could use a little work but it's easy to catch up. Besides your'e at home and who cares if you mess up? And when you do the matrix moves to 4 and 8 o'clock be sure not to twist your knees. She neglects to tell you that. The time seemed to go by quickly which is a big plus for me. It was easy to follow and fun to do. I would not use this for strictly weight training or sculpting but it's good for a little toning and calorie burning.
I have many Kathy Smith workouts. This is a very updated one. It is a great full body work out. It incorporates weights and compound moves to work different muscle groups at the same time, which burns more fat and tones at the same time. I like that she has many people on the dvd doing the moves at different levels. I can challenge myself and watch the more advanced girl, or i can follow along when im a bit out of breathe to a moderate girl. I cant find any downsides to this dvd yet. Ive done it about 6 times and as i get to know a tape i adjust my own intensity to best suit me..Push yourself though it really is a great workout..
I got this DVD a while ago and used it 4 times a week. I lost 15 lbs. I now have a butt again. after two kids I was beginning to wonder where it had gone. I will be 40 in 5 months. I am better toned and in better shape now then I was 20. I liked it so much I bought this one on E-Bay for a friend. She too likes it as well. Kathy smith is one of my favorites and this work out is one also.
I've been buying Kathy Smith workouts for many years and this is among my favorites. It is quick, but gives a good total body workout. There are a lot of compound moves that allow you to work more than one muscle at the same time.
