It takes some practice on how this unit works, but once you get it, the quality is quite good. It is good for making copies from your vinyl record collection; you just connect it to your amplifier tape input/output jacks on your stereo amp where your turntable is connected. Once you've put the vinyl on these CD's, you have to "finalize" the CD, which takes only 2 minutes; then it will play in most CD players made in the last 10 years. Since it has 2 trays, you can make a copy of one of your store-bought CD's at 2x speed - but it will add a 2 second gap between songs. Also, you MUST use only the blue-ish green bottom colored SONY DIGITAL AUDIO MUSIC (blank) CD-R's in this unit as TDK, Maxell, and Imation so-called 'music CD-Rs' have switched to a gold color that does NOT work in these units and will only work in computers. This is a good way to make copies of CDs if you don't have a computer! Also, good for playback too. Not a bad unit; this is just one notch below a Philips CD Recorder for ease of use, but is better than the Philips units which sometimes lock-up from heat, this unit had no heating problems at all. I give it a solid "B+" grade.Read full review
