You see a lot of talking heads putting fingers to keyboard on the Net and trashing KLH speakers. I bought my first set from Best Buy almost five years ago in order to build-out 5.1 sound, and the brand name had nothing to do with the choice I made. I listened to all of the sets of speakers they had setup with the same action movie playing and decided to go with the KLH set after concluding that it wouldn't blow my small-ish living room apart with reverberation while still delivering great sound quality. I would make the same choice tomorrow. I've had friends go through set after set of Bose and Pioneer products over the years since then, but I still have and love my KLH surround speakers. The only thing that was missing was a beefy center channel. I needed something to really tie the dialog to my screen and match my existing KLH set and the KLH943PL was what I found. Once again, I would buy another one tomorrow. If you want to annoy your neighbor six miles away with the DTS blasting from a movie you're watching, stick with the really expensive stuff. If you just want great sound at a reasonable volume and quality that will last then my experience has been that KLH will provide those at a fraction of the price.Read full review
Good sound

It is OK for movie center channel. But it will ruin the sound of classical music. Once I set my receiver to "No center speaker" the two mains filled in the center very nicely, so I am doing fine without this little guy. The spring-loaded connectors on the back are very flimsy; one on mine broke and I had to improvise.
