This is a hard to find part for my 1994 residential Craftsman 25 gallon air compressor that I've had since new. Other pistons sold are similar but not a direct replacement. After teardown of unit took less than 5 minutes to replace old piston that cracked at the connecting rod. Compressor is up and running with function as brand new. Very pleased as a new comparable compressor in the 500 dollar range. Quite a remarkable saving being able to repair my unit with no trouble.

This weak casting connecting rod breaks easily. Had it been forged or made from steel instead of aluminum I would not be on my 3rd set. Need someone to make an improved version (solid) instead of I-beam at the part that sheared in the photos shown.

The piston and the sleeve were great but, the gaskets were the wrong size. Luckily I could reuse my old O ring gasket and made my own head gasket with silicon "make a gasket". Anyway my old compressor had a lot of leaks that I had to fix with replacement parts. It's running like brand new now.

I was finished installing this in 25 minutes! ...too easy to do! .....should have done this years ago. Fill time has went from 16 minutes to under 5 mintes. I may purchase another kit and rebuild it again in 5 years. ....why did I wait for so long?
