I agree these are great saws. I now own 3 or them. I disagree with a previous review that there are plenty of these around for parts. There are plenty of saws but the cylinder and piston parts are not available any more unless you are lucky enough to find a used one or even more rare, one on a dealers shelf. The 49SP is a great saw with lots of power. I have a 20" bar on two of mine and an 18" bar on the other. I bought my last one on Craigslist for $160 and it's in perfect shape.

I HAVE 3 OF THIS VINTAGE. I HAVE ONE SINCE I WAS 15 YEARS OLD...IM NOW 52....AND THE SAW OUT LASTED THE NEW PIECES OF JUNK THAT I TRYED REPLACING IT WITH...WHICH ARE PLASTIC. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT I SOLD MY 2152 AT A TAG SALE (GARAGE SALE) FOR 100 DOLLARS BECAUSE IT DIDNT CUT LIKE THE 49 OR HAVE THE POWER. I KEPT SHAVING OFF THE SKIN ON MY KNUCKLES BECAUSE I HAD TO PUSH SO HARD TO CUT...THE 49 HAD THE RIGHT WEIGHT TO MY WEIGHT PROPORTION AND CUTS LIKE BUTTER....LOVE IT ...NOTHING BEATS AN OLD JONSEREDS

Great mid-range saw, Powerhouse for it's size, plenty of these guys still out there for parts! Solid full metal saw, easy to maintain. they also look good on the shelf when cleaned-up!
