Devour dots and power pellets while maneuvering through corridors and avoiding creatures. Although the formula sounds a bit like Pac-Man,Jawbreaker does things a little differently. Rather than focusing on traditional maze levels, you'll have to move a pair of teeth through horizontal passages.
The walls that separate the passages have small openings that move back and forth across the screen. In order to access other passages of the level, you'll have to maneuver the teeth through these moving open spaces. Making matters a little more complicated, however, are the "face monsters" that roam the halls. If a face is touched, the teeth will shatter and a life is lost. In order to succeed, good timing is required to coordinate pellet eating with the moving face monsters and openings in the walls.
Like the classic Pac-Man, Jawbreaker offers power pellets. When these pellets are consumed, the otherwise dangerous face monsters can be eaten. Eating the faces will temporarily get them out of the way, making it easier to get to all of the dots. Points are awarded for the consumption of dots, power pellets, and faces. The lollypops that appear from time to time add bonus points.
In order to clear a level, the heroic teeth must consume all the dots. When this happens, a cut-scene is shown, featuring a little toothbrush that zips out to clean the teeth. At the start of each game, you can input the desired movement controls and skill setting. The skill settings range from zero to nine, with nine being the fastest and most difficult.
