I have one of these 1:18 model helicopters and have installed electronics into it, along with scale carbon fiber rotor blades, and a CNC scale rotor head c/w "boots" over the main shaft/swash plate. Mine is now painted to represent the medi-vac hueys, and not only does it make a terrific static display on the shelf .... it actually flies. It's nice to see people gravitate toward it, and when they notice the landing skids are scuffed, and all the blue CNC blade grips, and a cabin stuffed with gears and electronics, they always turn and ask "does this really fly"? It's also a real eye catcher when it's ready for lift off, and the rotating beacon (actually a flashing LED), and all the navigation lights come on.

Since most of the UH-1 slicks were the D or H version, which my unit had in Vietnam and after, I modified mine into a D model. I have modified over half of the twenty-five 1/18th aircraft I currently have. A little bit of time, wood, and putty is all that is needed.
