During the 80's Johnny Winter cemented his status as a Blues artist with his three albums for Alligator Records; "Guitar Slinger", Serious Business" and "Third Degree". The clips on this collection start shortly before his first Alligator release and conclude around the time of his "Winter of '88" album. His commitment to the Blues is evidenced in his song choices; the only Rock 'n' Roll numbers are the obligatory "Johnny B. Goode", "Jumpin' Jack Flash" and "Highway 61 Revisted". His rendition of "Please Come Home For Christmas", faithful to Charles Brown's original, shows his deep history with the music and is one of the disc's highlights.
