This is the first Satch cd I bought and boy was I amazed! I'd never heard anything that cool up to that point. I have every album he's released and as the title says, this is Joe at his peak. I saw him live a few months ago, and even then, he didn't play at this level. The first track is the studio version of "The Crush of Love," a favorite of many. The other three tracks are live and demonstrate how differently he plays songs live. ("Memories" on this disc may be my favorite performance of his...ever!) Which is great for someone who already knows the studio versions note-for-note. These songs reach unbelievable heights and leave you wanting more (on the album "Time Machine" there are additional tracks recorded at this concert, so there you go.) As an interesting side point, at the soundcheck for this concert, a lighting technician high above the stage fell five feet in front of the band flat on his back and had to be revived twice with the band's collective knowledge of CPR. It is something that affected them throughout the performance that night. The tracks even had to be slightly altered because Joe didn't even notice that his guitar had become badly out of tune after awhile. Just thought you'd like to know that little bit of trivia concerning this great album. It would be a shame for any guitar fan to go through life without having heard this.Read full review
A musician of unbelievable talent at the height of his career. Joe Satriani on Guitar, Bass, and Keyboard collaborated with Jeff Campitelli,"Bongo" Bob Smith, and Stu Hamm among others to produce a1988 EP of vintage quality. It has been re-released as a CD and is rapidly becoming a collector's item in any form. I don't regret taking the time to track it down and highly reccommend that Satch fans grab this one while it can be found. The favorite "The Crush Of Love" is among the greats, my only negative is that it should be longer because it leaves you wanting more!!! Props to my brother in law who challenged me to find it even if he didn't give me the name.
This will always be my favorite Satch CD along with Flying In a Blue Dream. I was introduced to Satch's music by a friend and have been grateful ever since. I've not missed one of his CD's since and his newest "What Happens Next" is quickly becoming my driving CD. It's one thing to be in a band with singers and having lyrics but to be a virtuoso and still be able to make a carrer out of it (like his student Steve Vai) for this long says a lot. Really great CD from beginning to end and I'd highly recommend it if it's not already in your collection.

This disc was good, it had live and recorded music. Also great songs and versions live was awesome. Glad to add this to my collection, and i will buy every Satriani cd there is, he is my favorite guitarist.
I have been a fan of Joe Satriani for a short while now. He is really good. The music was only 23 minutes long but, the quality of the music is only great. I'm glad I bought the cd. thanks. Jim.
