A fine biography for fans of this all-American actor, a true gentleman and a great read. I practically 'devoured' this book, it was that enjoyable. I bought it because of my devotion to his acting, and his genuine personality as seen by his television appearances on Johnny Carson and Dean Martin shows. Stewart was a totally real person, no phoniness. He was the same person, on and off screen. he did not take advantage of his female co-stars, he was loyal to his wife, whom he married late in life. Stewart wanted to become an architect, but feel in "love" with acting. The rest is history, a very fine history it was too. Like John Wayne, Henry Fonda, or Maureen O'Hara---he set a high standard in his performances. His acting was so natural it wasn't acting, and that's the ideal for anyone in the film industry; something we rarely see today in 2010. Does Tom Cruise or Johnny Depp equal Jimmy Stewart? "You decide,"as Bill O'Reilly says nightly, Monday through Friday.Read full review
I believe it is written honestly about a man America loved.
