First of all, I bought this DVD collection because I want to get in shape and I love Jillian on the Biggest Loser show. Likes: I like the moves-simple, easy to follow moves-no fancy footwork (I'm not that cordanated!LOL, and the had low reps, mostly only 10 reps-(for instance 10 side kicks on each side, etc)so that was managable. A lot of the moves are similar to Taebo-which I like doing. I really feel the moves could help to tone and the cardio part broke it out and kept you sweating. Dislikes: Excitement-there is not background music and no one has enthusiasm. I'm used to Taebo and he motivates you and the participants get into it-counting etc. On this DVD they mention every 5 reps, but don't motivate. I figure I'll probably just start listening to my Ipod while I exercise. I wish it contained a workout schedule to follow-which days to do which DVD, etc. As someone previously mentioned you do need a long step so that is something to consider as that is an added expense ( you will also need hand weights.) I would not recomend this to a beginner at all. If you have a difficult time getting up from the floor and back down this is something for you to work up to. In the full frontal DVD you get up and down from the floor between reps of excercises and you have to be able to do it rather quickly like 6-10 sec. For example doing crunches on the step, up to jumping jacks, down again for bicyles, up to squats,etc. It is difficult!!! Jillian Michaels is my workout hero! last summer i was in the best shape i have ever been in because i used her book "Making the cut" and it kicked my butt and i loved it. this summer im using these DVD's and so far it's amazing. right when i start to think about taking a quick breather she starts yelling at us to keep it going, dont stop now! and its at the right time...im feeling better already, more energy and starting to see some results, i love it! i would recommend these DVD's and ANY other Jillian Michaels workout anything to ANYBODY! it's a great buy!
Although I myself have not tried her DVDs yet, my daughter has been faithfully using the program. She has done cardio kickboxing daily. It is very hard at first, so expect that you may not last more than a few minutes. My daughter's results in 4 days were unbelievably awesome! Her inches dropped and she appears to have lost weight, even though she weighs the same. So toning does make a difference in your appearance. Also, her muscles firmed up quite a bit in that short amount of time. Used faithfully, this DVD set will work wonders on your body. It is just like being on the tv show "Biggest Loser". You will get the same results she gave those contestants.
I bought these tapes with the intention of getting into shape. Let me tell you, Jillian will do just that!! I am a very active person with a full time job(not a sitting job) & maybe would like to lose 5lbs, but mostly to get in shape because I'm reaching my mid forties. Jillian kicks my butt every time! She works different parts of the body on each dvd. The only disappointment I had was that you need a Step & hand weights to do a lot of the exercises, & I did not know that. But if you want a good workout, Jillian will give you a run for your money! I plan on buying a step to maximize my workouts. Its also very good cardio dvds.
This workout is very difficult to follow and keep up with. I have been working out most everyday for 2 years high intense cardo Its the trainer style that is hard to follow. The thing I would like most people to know that I did'nt you HAVE to have a long cardo step bench to even do 4 out of 5 dvd's. The dvd's are not really timed. So if you like to work out 30 min or 1 hour this work out system is not for you. I did like the change you from my old work out, but it has not gotten any easier in the 3 months I have owned.I can also say it is a Full body workout system.
