Excellent price/performance ratio. Going to higher clock CPU's ramps up the price out of all proportion to the speed increase. Very good room for overclocking, 4 GHz is possible. I have just set the multiplier to 24 for 3.2 GHz and it runs very cool with a decent heatsink and fan. Be wary of using high voltages for your overclock. Use as little overvolt as possible, just enough to get a stable system at your chosen speed. I got 3.79MHz stable with voltages set to auto in the bios (not really recommended for big overclocks). Xsensors in Linux mint showed only moderate voltage increases. I got low 70's for core temps when stress testing and low 50's while gaming on air cooling. If you can get this cpu for under £20 then go ahead, it will not disappoint.

Very capable cpu, tends to be about half the price of the x5690 but still very performant. Chose this over the l5640 because if you are only doing light loads, this drops back down to the lower power state quicker, good if you're running a lot of virtual machines.
