Ever since my wife and I saw John Thaw's portrayal of Inspector Morse, we have almost invariably thoroughly enjoyed it. We enjoyed the settings, the people, the presentations in general and Mr. Thaw in particular. Morse was shown as more human than machine, as much flawed as he was thoughtful and gentle natured. The series contains 35 DVDs and we were thrilled to have it available at a reasonable price; about $10 per episode. It was easy to relate to Thaw’s portrayal of a man as upset by disorderliness and not having a beer as he is to criminal activity. The corrective and progressive “training” the Chief Inspector gives his side-kick, Sgt. Lewis is entertaining and enjoyable. As in life, often times, terrible things happen by just being in the wrong place at the wrong time and there is a great deal to do over little. In general we’re pleased with the series. The only negative aspect, at least from our vantage point is, no matter what quality the presentation or level the acting, we simply threw away the Day of the Devil because we see no redeeming value in examining or delving into occult activities, much less being entertained by such. So, other than that, we think that 34 out of 35 is not bad.Read full review
Having loved Endeavor, I looked forward to seeing the same detective in later life, thus the Morse series. Don't expect a thriller in each episode as they move much slower than most thrillers. But that pace coupled with the plots and the acting is what makes this series so terrific.

If you admire John Thaw and his portrayal of Inspector Morse then you owe yourself the treat of this dvd collection. Mr. Thaw is superb as is Kevin Whately in his role of loyal Sergeant Lewis. I enjoyed every minute of this series and will absolutely watch it again.
Inspector Morse is brilliantly portrayed by John Thaw, who in essence becomes Morse; Sargent Lewis, Morse's able Dr Watson, is flawlessly played by Kevin Whately. From the moment you begin to view the Inspector Morse episodes you will fall under the enchantment of Morse, his dedication, his determination to prevail, and his passion for discovering the truth.
Bought as Christmas present for my wife. It's her favorite British series. She likes the DVDs and I was extremely pleased with the packaging. She (and therefore I) like this product very much. Difficult to compare too similar products.
