After years of research and patient care (this is my 11th book also including a textbook) I tried to cover EVERYTHING in treating and caring for men with low testosterone and low sperm count (and ZERO libido). These are complex issues that most doctor don't even know how to diagnose, then if they do, they just treat with injectable testosterone cypionate once a month (usually a LAST resort option in my armamentarium but also in my opinion should be done weekly NOT monthly -- UGH). Every physician should start with a GOOD history -- so I tried to discuss the most common causes of low testosterone (it's usually central hypogonadism or vitamin deficiencies) and why these occur, and how to look for these problems. I detail all the symptoms and problems that occur and why they are often MISDIAGNOSED in place of hypogonadism. I then go into the details of how to get a proper lab diagnoses and discuss ways to properly diagnose vitamin deficiencies or pituitary dysfunction or even primary hypogonadism (testicular damage which is actually NOT very common). Then I detail all the treatment options available and what works and what doe NOT work. Women, if you're reading this, DON'T let your man be sterilized or have his libido nuked from lack of proper diagnosis and lack of proper therapy for his problem -- IF he's sitting around and too tired to play with you or to even wrestle with your kids and his primary care doc says it's depression -- cry BS and get this book -- read up on what's REALLY happening. Men -- save your marriage, sex life, and your brain -- you know your libido is in the toilet -- this highly referenced book (tons of peer reviewed studies and articles) will guide you and hopefully save you. I am a VERY popular speaker BECAUSE I make the complex easily understandable, even among physicians. So occasionally in my books I use conversational writing -- say kinda and stuff like that (like this diagnosis is kinda weird, don't you think? ). It's just for FUN. I can most definitely write in the strict (and boring) science vernacular but who'd want to read it? And thanks for the read.
