Many significant architects from the 60's and 70's are represented. Lots of good ideas are presented in a way that helps you decide what might work for you. Missing are some recent trends in energy use and treating the house as a renewable resource. Definitely not green, but with more feeling for the way a space feels and supports your living in it. This book takes a long time to read. It's low price makes it a terrific bargain.
I had been looking for this author and any of his books since I had been in college in the 70's. My first copy of an earlier copyright was water damaged in one of our various moves in the military. This is still an excellent reference book today in 2006, I study it on a regular basis. It gives a refreshing approach that is timeless. The amazing color photographs and the variety used are invaluable when studying and referencing information.
