I'm a movie buff, and I have a personal critera for favorite movies. Humor, Action, Adventure, Mystery, Comraderie. Internal Affairs has these qualities in spades! I have all 3 movies in this series, and I recommend them highly to anyone. The premise is, the Triads put their "mole_ into the Police Academy, and the Police put their "mole" into the Triads. What happens along the way is an exquisite look into peoples lives on both sides. You see the human side of these people both in the Triads and the Police force. The acting is superb, the characters come to life in a way that is very rare in todays movies. You care about the characters on _both_ sides of the fence. Infernal Affairs is now at the top of my list of favorite movies. Interestingly enough, Martin Scorcese has finished a "remake" of this movie, with a working title of The Departed - with the storyline taking place in America. If you are looking for a movie with true heart and soul, you cannot do better than Infernal Affairs. It will blow your mind!Read full review
Infernal Affairs was made in 2002, a Hong Kong crime thriller directed by Andrew Lau and Alan Mak. It stars Tony Leung (Hero) as the hard nosed cop sent under cover to infiltrate the Triad crime ring. And Andy Lau (The Legend of Drunken Master) who plays the mole on the police department that is working for the crime boss who is trying to expose the under cover cop who uses Morse code to report back to the commissioner. This story was gripping, gritty and full of suspense. You felt for the cop because he was undercover for 10 years and wanted to get his police life back. And the guy on the force that was working for the crime boss was a real shrewd one. I loved this movie. I can't see how Martin Scorsese could have won the Academy Award for his version of this film when it's so evident, this movie is where he got the idea for his rip off film - The Departed. The only difference was the fact that the two faced cop got to live in the end. Or did he? I have to see the alternate ending which I haven't seen as yet. But it was a great movie. Very sad but very good.Read full review
This is a great Chinese film and I've already watched it for hundreds of times. I think it is a good recommendation to others, so I bought this for my friend. The poster is really creepy. That girl only shows up about 3 minutes in the movie and she never holds a gun. The Chines version has a much cooler cover and can show the main idea of the movie better.
I bought this dvd because it was shown on Youtube.com as a trailer feature and wanted to see the movie. There wasn't too much I disliked about the movie because it has the director's cut and theater version.Overall I do like the movie as well the complete saga.I do recommend for those who likes detective storylines with deep plotlines besides what lies beneath the surface.
good quality and price is very reasonable!
