The only flaw with this used laptop is that the keyboard doesn't move to allow access to the interior. That will be a slow, longer term process to release it. I'll also note that though the ad said the hard drive was 320GB, it's actually 298GB -- a blemish I can live with. But the CPU is a very fast Core i5. I loaded Windows 7 Enterprise on it (x86). After Windows loads, Device Manager indicated about seven drivers that didn't load -- mostly pertaining to LAN, sound, and wifi capabilities. But the new Windows installation easily got online with IE8, and I proceeded to download updates from Microsoft. This took care of all the unloaded driver issues. (The Lenovo site itself is difficult to negotiate.) The ThinkPad T410 has a TrackPad and a Trackball to move the cursor. Sometimes, when using the TrackPad, the mouse experiences some difficulties when moving across window boundaries. I then go to the Trackball which doesn't have those issues. The performance is very good, very fast -- with 4GB of RAM. The wifi connection is solid; the Bluetooth link to a desktop and cell phone was quick, easy, and solid. It was also easy to channel the phones audio through the laptop's speakers, and with a headset, convert the laptop into a speakerphone. The internet speed (with IE 11) is very good -- a 500 MB download in about 20 minutes (with AT&T DSL+ connection). The wireless connection to a wireless Canon printer went without flaws. I've become a fan of the Lenovo laptop.Read full review
This little battleship of a laptop hails from an earlier age when laptops actually attempted to give you convenience and flexibility. There is an amazing array of ports, doors, removable drives on this wonderful little device. When it originally shipped "way back" in 2010 it sold for a whopping $1700, and truth be told, it was probably worth it. Now that we've moved on to ultralights with zero ports (everything's wireless) dinosaurs like the T410 are relegated to the "dollar bin" in used computer outlets. YAY! For an incredible $90, shipped I got a super-usable laptop in very nice condition, one that works just fine for all of my day-to-day computing operations. Granted, I'm not a gamer, and this laptop will certainly not shine with intensive 3d applications, although it works decently well with Solidworks. The point is that it DOES work really well with 99% of what I do. For $90 that's amazing. It does just fine with YouTube BTW. Then there's bad news, followed by good news. This laptop is NOT certified to run Windows 10, and if you go to the Lenovo web site they will tell you so. However, with some hunting I was able to find suitable drivers for everything from the FN key combinations, on-screen-display (OSD) video, sound, camera and everything else. Just took a little work to find, install and test. The watchword is -- look for Windows 8 drivers, they work fine in Windows 10. The other oddity is the trackpad, or at least the thin plastic cover for it. In every T410 I've seen, the little bumps have worn off in the middle. Still works fine, but the texture is gone. No problem. Look on ebay for a new Trackpad overlay. You simply peel the old one off, clean off the old glue with Goof-Off, and then reapply the new pad cover. Then it's like new again for about $3 shipped. Long story short, I'm very tempted to snatch up a few of these laptops just to have for the odd need or situation, or friend or relative who need to update. I feel like I'm stealing something at that price.Read full review

I really like Lenovo products overall and the T410 is a laptop I dig. I own a T60 and T61 but I've also owned other IBM laptops in the past. Its i5 processor and 4gb RAM work well for what I do although it does seem to run hot at times and if I were doing Photoshop with multiple layers I would look for a machine with 8gb RAM. The thing I like about the Thinkpad is users can swap out their CD/DVD drive for a second hard drive. I run Windows 8.1 and a Linux distro on all my laptops. I use SSD and its super fast. Upgrade the bios and look on Youtube for ways to optimize Windows 7 or 8 for the SSD. The T410 can often be found here for $175.00 or less. This is a well made machine with a decent screen. No, its not super thin or lightweight but its also well priced and will serve most users very well. If you decide to use a Linux distro do your research because not all detect its wi-fi card natively.Read full review
eBay is a great resource for technology. While there are many laptops on here, Lenovo Thinkpads are among the few that I would trust second hand without seeing in person. Over the course of their history there hasn't been many manufacturer defects, like HP's DVXXXX laptop model debacle with a gpu that will lift off the motherboard sooner or later due to inadequate cooling for such a high temp running chip. This T410 is no exception. While I wish the resolution was much higher, like my T61p, 1920x1200 vs the 1400x900 I have, I can live with it. The laptop is much easier to carry around then my T61p anyways and for me this is a big bonus. The 14" LED backlit display is crisp, although it does have a slight blue hue from defaults. This is nothing the screen calibrator I have can't fix. This is a minor issue for me anyways, as I'm not doing color sensitive work on it. The nvidia discreet graphics has more then enough umph for my usages, you won't be doing any high intensity gaming on it that's for sure, but that's what I have custom built desktop for. Yesterday's valve games, run quite well though. The keyboard is as per usual for a Thinkpad, just brilliant. I can type on this one all day long and that brings up another point. I don't understand why manufacturers these days believe 4-5 hours of battery life in laptop is acceptable. Maybe this is the general opinion of buyers that is fine but to me it isn't. I mean Apple even got with the picture and put integrated higher capacity batteries in their laptops recently that give 7-10 hours. Where am I going with this? Lenovo has recently created an initiative to get all day computing with the all recent T,X,W series laptops. For my T410, I have the 9cell extended battery that fits into the laptop normally. I then have the awesome 9 cell slice battery that fits on the bottom. The slice adds a bit of weight, however it more then doubles my run time. On Windows 7 Professional x64, with 8gb of ram and an intel SSD, I have left the laptop with both of these batteries attached, on for 28 hours straight just idling. While this isn't real world, my next test was stress testing, playing a few steam games, doing some work, web browsing. The best I've got for life doing this so far is 19 hours and then it hibernates from low battery life. This is absolutely amazing, I can't say it enough. The laptop has an i5 processor. While it's not Sandy bridge/Ivy Bridge generation, it certainly is no slouch either. None of my used applications/software has been able to bog it down, multitasking heavily included in this. Mine was the 2.4ghz chip but will run faster if needed up to 2.93ghz. It also has hyperthreading so I have two physical cores, but 4 threads, which is helpful in some applications I use. I do wish I was able to take advantage of the high capacity 8gb ram sticks, in this machine. However it's not a huge fault and understandable where the architecture can't correctly handle more than 8gbs of ram. While many places online say you can add 16gbs to this and it works or sometimes doesn't, I was able to confirm you can't.et. In summary, this is a great laptop, especially for the prices on ebay. I recommend to a college student especially like me.Read full review
I gotta say, this was probably the best purchase that I have made in years. In my book, there is no substitute for a good ThinkPad. I have used these for over a decade at work, and when I saw this one (a T410) on-sale for this price, I decided to give it a try. When the unit arrived, i told my wife that she should not be mad at me; not because I spent the money, but because the laptop will work so much better than the previous one that we were using (an old T40) that she would be pi$$ed that I did not do this years ago. Both of us were thrilled with the laptop. No second thoughts whatsoever. This thing performs as well as my work laptop (a one year old T420 with a solid state drive) though there is a lot of work crap that probably slows it down. There used to be an old adage; no one ever go fired for buying IBM. Yes, I know that IBM had Lenovo making these for them for years. I would think that no one would get fired for going with a Lenovo laptop. Do yourself a favor, and buy one of these. This laptop is most likely good for at least a few years. This would have been a $1000 + laptop when new. I paid a fifth of that for my used one, which is in better shape than my current work laptop. This was spectacularly refurbished.Read full review
Great Laptop and a Desktop replacement. It's not heavy for all of it's features and fast. Battery time surprised me and graphics are great. Love the keyboard and track point. I've gone through several new ones in the last two years and this older model runs circles around them. Great Buy

Got this to run Linux for travel and home use. I will fully load Linux on it and see if i can use it successfully in place of a Windows laptop.
