The book started with Carroll's life leading up to his famous role but gave very little content towards his most famous tv shows. They seemed to be skipped over and the last few chapters were pages from his diary before his son died. Okay start but ended in a tailspin. Hard to finish instead of hard to put down.

I liked Carroll O'Conner in his role as Archie Bunker and thought he was really funny altho, at the time he was considered outrageous. I also thought him really courageous when his son, addicted to cocain, committed suicide. His book shows a lot of sides of Mr. o'Conner. His life in Ireland, his marriage, his fellow actors, his many different roles in life and on stage. This biography is written in a manner I found truely interesting
Carroll O'Connor has always been a favorite person of mine. From his earliest pictures to All in the Family and to In the Heat of the Night. The actor has always intrigued me. Listening to his life story deplicted in the book and especially the loss of his Son Hugh let's the reader know even the best of Hollywood has it's troubles. After reading this book, I felt very bad for him about the loss of his Son. This is a book very worth reading.
just too repeditive no i don't think i should be required to go beyond what i originally said. go away
