This movie does not have the generic, fairytale, "happy-go-lucky" plot, characters, twists and dialogue that every other movie has... this movie is different in a VERY GOOD, REFRESHING way. Why? Because it's portrayed in an extremely authentic way; with real problems and real dialogue. It's about a Puerto Rican family that lives in the Bronx , New York (Nuyorican Family) and talks about: married life, in-laws, siblings, children, nosy neighbors/friends, financial problems, lack of money, etc. Moreover, married life isn't perfect; the characters screw up like real human beings, but somehow they find their way. Jon Seda and Lauren Vélez have excellent on-screen chemistry together complementing each other tremendously. In addition, they were both nominated (Jon Seda won) for Independent Spirit Awards which tells you that they both did a phenomenal job at bringing these characters to life. I think anyone could relate to any of the topics, characters, struggles and issues that are covered in this movie... it really makes you think, value and appreciate what one has, especially in terms of marriage and family. Highly Recommended!!! A+!!! Five Stars!!! *****Read full review
I received my dvd today and although it was a little over my budget, it was worth it, since it’s an out of print film.

I bought the old movie I Like It Like That. This movie is about this woman named LaSett and her family. Her and family are Porta Rican that lives in New York. Lisette and her husband Chino Linares get put in jail for stealing a radio so she has to get a job as record executive so she can take care of her 3 children. Chino doesn't like and is jealous of her working and wants her to go on welfare but she doesn't to. LiSette and Chino has very rough and exciting life that is what made want to watch this movie. I didn't have any complaints about this sell. I would recommand this movie any day.
its a great movie , and finally put on dvd , the need to put more movies that are on VHS to dvd format

This movie is a pretty good feature length film based on Thomas and his friends. The acting was good with Peter Fonda stealing the show in my opinion. Alec Baldwin did really well as well as Mara. It kept my son interested the first time he watched and still holds his interest every time after.
